The purpose of the project was to design the next generation of Deep Submersible Exploration Vessel. They wanted this new vessel to go deeper and faster submerged then any previous design. It should also be able to travel through space to its destination as well as be able to land on the planet and then when the mission is finished take off again. By combining research from of the Federation Naval Patrol and the Pacifica Submersible Research Institute it became apparent that the easiest way to for the crew to cope with the stresses of pressure while on deep dives and rapid manoeuvres it was decided to have the whole crew Selkie and have the hull flooded with water. | ||
