Bardon Alpha

Bardon Alphas is a frontier planet near the Cardassian border located in Federation space. It is a Class N planet and is occupied by only a hadful of miners in search of the rich deposits of Boronite ore, that is prevelant on the planet.

A secret faction of Doenitz had infiltrated the facilities there and was siphoning off small amounts of Boronite for the purpose of using it to synthesize the Omega Molecule which would then be used in the Omega Device to create a weapon of mass destruction and guarantee the return of the Doentiz regime to power. although under the command of an as of yet unknown dictator.

The Colony was attacked in 2408 by the ISS Rosenante, who was intent on the acquisition of the boronite for the creation of a stabilized Omega Molecule, which had already been perfected in their own universe.

In the Mirror Universe[edit]

Bardon Alpha is considered one of the most brutal mining and penal facilities in the Imperial Union of Planets. The mines are a detention facility for political prisoners and captured enemy soldiers. The planet's treatment of these undesirables is harsh and many do not survive long in the mines. The regent of the IUP Rodrigo Doenitz and captain of the ISS Rosenante Ahmed Ibn Salid were both imprisoned there during the time of the Terran Empire. They managed to escape and join the Resistance. Eventually they aided in the Formation of the IUP and began the long hard work of restoring the empire to it's prior strength.

The planet has changed hands three times in the Mirror Universe. First it was a detention and mining Center for the Terran Empire. Then it was captured and used by the Klingon - Cardassian Alliance to the same ends, and finally was captured and used by the Imperial Union of Planets.

The planet has no real strategic value, although the commodity of Boronite has numerous uses. The planet's relative isolation do not make it a primary Military objective.

This planet first appeared in the USS Rosenante Mission: Into the Darkness, Go I
