Comet Holladay is a large rogue comet located within the confines of Sector 6309. The comet was under survey by the USS Rosenante in 2414 when they were called away to intervene in the rescue of refugees and hostages on Beta Aquillia IV. The Comet was roughly two days away from that planet at maximum warp. The Comet is named for the scientist, Todd Holladay, who first discovered it and directed the Rosenante to conduct their survey.

In reality, the comet is named for Rosenante crew member Todd Holladay, who was deployed to active military duty in the warzone of Afghanistan during the mission. Todd served as the First officer of the Rosenante, with his character T'Larah Sullivan and had been a member of the ship's compliment for two-years before he was called away to active duty. In honor of his service to his country, the members of the Rosenante crew named this comet, a fictional aspect of their story, in his honor.
