The Constellation-class starship was a medium-sized cruiser designed in the late 23rd century through the mid-24th century.

HISTORY

Introduced in the late 23rd century, the Constellation-class starship was similar in overall size to a Constitution class starship. Constellation vessels were equipped with four nacelles and were suited for both deep-space exploration and defensive patrol duties.

By the mid-2360s this class of "old-style" starship was on the fringe of being phased out of the fleet, considered to be "overworked and underpowered". Those that remain in service were typically relegated to transport duties.

SPECIFICATIONS

One notable feature of the Constellation-class was that it was one of the few classes in use mounted with four warp nacelles. During their original construction, Constellation-class starships employed Avidyne engines. By the latter 24th century these had been replaced with more effective engines.

Maximum Speed: Warp 8 (12 hours)

Armament: 6 dual phaser turrets; 2 megaphaser cannons; 4 photon torpedo launchers

Normal Cruise Warp 6

Maximum Cruise Warp 8

Maximum Rated Warp 8.6 for twelve hours

COMMENTS

Unfortunately the amount of information on the Constellation Class is limited and much of it is conflicting. As such this is all the information that will be made available on this class unless I can find more from credible sources.
