The [[ISS Soong]] is a [[Prometheus Class]] ship of the Imperial [[Starfleet]] serving the [[Mirror Universe|Imperial Union of Planets]].  In mid-2407 the Soong was assigned to the Cybernetic Division of the Imperial Daystrom Institute, where she was ordered to attack the [[Bynars|Bynar]] homeworld of [[Bynaus]].

The Bynars had disobeyed a direct order by [[regent]] [[Admiral Doenitz|Doenitz]] to tunr over their plans for their Master Computer. The ship managed to subjegate the population, killing missions of Bynars. During that attack [[Rank|Ensign]] [[Robert Smith]] was seriously injured.
