Korvat

Korvat is a planet at the edge of Cardassian Union territory. It is a Class N planet rich in minerals including Duranium and Osmium .

The planet's environment although capable of supporting life is inhospitable to most humanoids. As such, the Cardassians operated a secure penal facility there, known as the Korvat Prison.

The Prisoners at the penal facility also double as miners. Several Bajoran prisoners were shipped to Korvat during the Occupation of Bajor.

Mirror Universe[edit]

In the Mirror Universe Korvat is controlled by the Klingon-Cardassian Alliance. It is a primary mining facility for Duranium and Osmium Ore. Among those imprisoned there was Keiko Ishagawa and Tasha Yar. Keiko later escaped to join the Terran Rebellion. The facility was run by a Cardassian named Zarale who holds the rank of Gul.
