Ensign Pembrook Carter

Ensign Pembrook Carter was a science officer serving aboard the USS Rosenante in 2414. His area of expertise included nanoengineering, computer science and computer modelling.

He served in the Federation Civil War with the 52nd Fleet, where he was assigned to the USS Champlain, which was destroyed in the Battle for Sector 001.

After the end of the civil war, Serrano transferred to the Rosenante where he served as a programmer in the ship's computer core.

In 2414, when the USS Rosenante and the USS Boudicca were assigned to investigate Borg activity on Dovek II, Serrano was assigned to assist in developing a weapon to stop the Borg assimilation of the two ships. Working closely with Ensign Isra Caliel. The two officers accurately identified the programming DNA used by the Borg nanoprobes to assimilate new species and re-wrote it. Although Caliel handled the majority of the work, Pem was critically involved in the testing and implementation of their theories.

Once the code was finished, the development team lacked only a means to deploy the cure. They were ordered to the CommSuite aboard the USS Rosenante to aid Ensign Henry Jacobs in using the subspace equipment to deploy the code.

Unfortunately the equipment there was damaged during a Borg assault and the team was forced to relocate to the USS Boudicca to use their Deflector Array to transmit the code.

The cure worked and neutralized all the Borg threat aboard both Federation starships, although attempts to use it against Borg who had seized the Tkon Nanosphere.

Pem remains a science officer aboard the USS Rosenante.

Pembrook Carter was first seen in the joint USS Boudicca and USS Rosenante mission Once More Into The Breach
