It was founded as a result of the settlement of twin homeworlds, Romulus and Remus by dissident Vulcans approximately 2,000 years ago, and existed at least as early as 2152, when it made first contact with United Earth. The Romulan Star Empire is well known for its xenophobic and expansionist policies.
