I did this as a joke when I was bored one day, it kept growing as I went. And now I pass it around for a chuckle.

The Marine Bible: Book of Lee[edit]

The History: The Marine Bible: Book of Lee was written by MXO 2nd Lt Richard Ian Lee, then of the Nimitz, as a guidebook for new Marines to follow after graduating from Marine training and attaining full status in the fleet. It is a continuously revised edition that enfolds modern strategy with traditional training and theory. As the corps matures, so does it.

The Book of Lee: Foreward[edit]

1. In the beginning, there was the Federation. And the Federation was Good.

2. And from the Federation spawned the Star Fleet, and officers and vessels to fill the fleet. And engineers and scientists to study new life and build new equipment to keep the fleet in good running condition.

3. And the Federation looked on, and saw that the Starfleet was Good, and smiled as they expanded the fleet to include both defense and exploration.

4. And then, came dark and dastardly races, bent on destroying the Star Fleet and the Federation which it served, and Starfleet called out loudly in askance for a group of persons that could defend the Starfleet and the Federation from outside attackers on the ground, and in space. A group that would train hard, and die harder for the cause in which they where created; the defense of liberty and the security of the Federation and all the peoples contained within.

5. And from the ashes of battle, came a group known as Starfleet Marines. Their name a powerful symbol of Federation power and Starfleet willingness to fight when needed.

6. And the Marines did form a Corps, that they might train and fight side by side as brothers. That they might crawl through holes, and fight in pits and on mountains. That they might excel in the hottest deserts, and the coldest tundra’s.

7. And the Corps did grow, to include specialists and general troopers, that together they might face a general foe and win against all odds.

8. And that Corps did grow, to become the best-trained hand to hand combat specialists that the universe had ever seen. Both in peace and in war, and the Federation did look upon them and smile, for verily they were good.

Chapter One:[edit]

1. Thus sayeth Marine Executive, Richard Ian Lee: “In times of battle, never falter. Your courage and your wits must always be on you as armor. Though thou shall be in hopeless situations, you shalt never give up and crawl home in the deluge of defeat, but instead press on and hold thy head high in the winds of Victory.

2. “For Always shall there be strife, and in strife a Marine excels. There shall be many times thou shalt want to give up, but trust instead in the wisdom of command while keeping a wise head about you as well, and you shall do well.

3. “And in times of worry, when you know not if you might survive and are lacking in courage and in the necessary toughness required for survival, doth remember the following words and let them give you strength:

4. “Thou I talk the talk, and walk the walk, I shall fear no evil. And thou I might be blown into the sky, through the pearly gates and land at the feet of the Lord head first: Via Heavy Explosives: I shall fear no enemy and shall target them as mine enemy likewise targets me. For in my heart of hearts, I know I fight for a good cause, for the Federation and my family, which doth live therein.

5. “For verily I knowest that I am important to the Federations defense, and that my life though given, is given freely and at high cost to those who would attack the institution for which I live and defend.

6. “In the Name of the Federation, The Starfleet and the Marine Corps we do pray: HOO WAH!

7. And when he was done, MXO Richard Ian Lee did sit down before his squad, and proceed to tell them of their heritage and of the future of the corps.

Chapter 2:[edit]

1. Thus again sayeth Marine Executive Richard Ian Lee, “As a Marine, there are many things that you must know to be successful. For verily, there is much to know both in technology and of a Marines State of Mind. Lack of knowledge in either is both foolish and deadly, so listen closely to my words, and I will teach you all I know that you might continue on and live for the Marine Corps and the Federation for which it serves. Here, so promised, is the units and family organization for which you will be fighting in.

2. “The most sacred trinity, which you shall serve, shall be the Federation, Starfleet and the Corps.

3. “It is this trinity that you serve, and no other shall you help unless so ordered by your superiors and in good cause. The Corps is your family while you serve, and as family shall you treat your fellow brothers and sisters that make up your squad within the corps.

4. “Your squad is the lowest family unit, and four squadrons make up a platoon. And three or four platoons beget a company, as four to six companies beget a battalion. And four to six battalions beget a regiment. And finally, three to five regiment makes up a division, which art numbered for the order of their birth under the command of the Maine Corps as a whole.

5. And the squads shall be named with numbers or the Greek alphabet, as the platoons are named with the phonetic alphabet. All this under the Companies, which are named in alphabetical order according to their battalion and regiment, which are done in the same style as divisions In their numbering in order of creation.

6. “You shall serve in strength, and you shall serve by thine self. The number of brothers matters not, only your devotion to duty and your willingness to look Evil itself in the eye, and spit. Knoweth now that the Corps doth care for you, and will not willingly send you to a bitter end without the greatest of causes, so fight to your utmost without fear in the knowledge that the fruit of your demise will help bring the sunshine of peace.”

7. And thus endeth the sermon of Organization within the Corps.

Chapter 3[edit]

1. And Richard Lee did stand, and give forth to his audience an example of the weapons of a Starfleet Marine. He let them touch, and fiddle, for verily Marines do learn better when they are immersed in their art. And Richard Lee did say unto them “Behold, the tools of the trade.

2. “For these are some of the tools that will kill the unwary, yet become surgical and precision weapons of death and destruction in the name of peace when placed in the hands of a highly motivated and deeply trained individual, as a Marine is like to be.

3. “First, but not foremost, is the Phaser rifle. A weapon of compressed and phased energy that doth have settings one through sixteen. Anything from light stun, a slight tap on the wrist; to complete and total annihilation and disassociation of matter, a royal slap from us to the enemy.

4. “Verily I sayest unto you, that the settings and power contained in the Phaser is deadly, yet graceful. A Toy the phaser is not, yet a powerful tool and a handy weapon in the event of war or peace.”

5. And Richard Lee did pass on the next toy, and said unto them. “And behold now, a photon Grenade. Multiple settings and highly mobile, when a hole needs cleared or the enemy masses to wipe out the hopeless Marine, or group of marines. Behold their sleek design and lightweight. Imagine, if you will, the three to ten second timer contained within. The only limitations to this piece of art, is the strength and accuracy of the throwing Marines arm.

6. “And behold, I show unto you now, the Heart of a Marines defense. The Battle Dress Uniform, also known as the BDU. It is the external skin of a Marine as he is dispensing Justice to those that would wrong the Starfleet and the Federation for which the Starfleet serves.

7. “It is in many parts, the first being the uniform itself. Lightly armored and meant to be worn at all times, it is the core of Marine Dress and all Marines will become intimate with it. In its second phase, the powerful Pallas Battle Helmet is added, and the Marine can become antonymous for a time.

8. “And lastly is the Heavy BDU, an impressive mix of technology and armor.

9. “In its heavy form, the BDU is capable of taking multiple shots of energy or physical brute attacks. Verily, it is a beautiful piece of technology that has saved many a Marines life in the line of duty.

10. “Of its many functions, there is the ability to change camouflage patterns, and to sustain minimal zero-gravity environments. As well, it contains a backpack that will be filled with such items as you are able to use in a competent manner. The BDU will be your home away from home at times, and you shall learn to love it as you would love your own mate.

11. Verily I sayest unto you, many are the weapons and tools that you will use as a Marine during your tour of duty in the Starfleet. Many you will never use in actual combat, but many you will. Remember what I sayest unto you, learn your BDU and other tools contained in the trade of being a Soldier in the service of Starfleet. You never know when such intimate knowledge will come in handy, and save your life.
