Biographical Details

Background

Born on a Starfleet base in Rota, Spain on Stardate 2380.04.26. His father served six years in Starfleet then retired at the rank of Lt. He then became a lawyer. Will lived his entire life on earth along with his parents, and his younger siblings, John, David, and Elisa. He is the grandson of former Starfleet Admiral Gonzalo Rodriguez Martin-Granizo, who died when will was 6 in 2386.

He lived a pretty normal and uneventful life. He wanted to be a lawyer before entering Starfleet academy. In fact he had taken that path and enrolled in the university of Oklahoma and obtained two degrees there. After graduation he decided to enroll in Starfleet Academy, deciding that becoming a Lawyer would be enjoyable, but decided that, it wasn\'t the best choice for him. Though he did attend special correspondence classes.

His brother John is currently a Senior in starfleet Medical. His brother David a Junior, with a tatical major. All 3 siblings attended Major Universities before going to the academy because they wanted to make sure that is what they truly wanted to do. John graduated from Texas A&M university with a Pre-Med degree and David graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a degree in Interplanetary and Earth history.

When they were little they all wanted to be starfleet officers, like there dad was, and most of their uncles on there mom's side of the family were. They would always make believe they were onboard ships and would play. But as they grew older those dreams seamed to fade. Will became more interested in business and managing things. He wanted to be an interplanetary business lawyer and work with other planets. Business and managemnet grew on him, as well as studying law. However his senior year at The University, while he was debating Starfleet or Law school, he didn't want to make a descion he would regret. Realizing he could always become a lawyer after finishing his service in Starfleet he thought he would pursue his dreams of traveling the stars.

His brothers also followed suit. The day Will entered Starfleet the three brothers made a pact they wouldall serve time in starfleet and but there careers on hold, serving in Starfleet to achieve there childhood dream and to "protect" the galaxy. John, knowing that with a medical degree from starfleet would allow him to practice privately when he was done serving entered as medical major. David an avid weapons collector, had planned all along to enter starfleet as a career and only got the degrees in history because history was one of his passions.

Will is of spanish(spain) and American descent. He grew up in Dallas, Texas, USA, but also lived in Florida, Mexico City, Mexico, and Hondruas mainly inpart to his dad's lawyer job that he took after being honorably discharged from Starfleet.

Will comes from a family of Starfleet officers. On his mothers side he has 10 uncles currently serving in Starfleet with about 3 of them in command of their own ship, 3 serving as first officers, 1 Chief of engineering, 1 Chief of Operations, 1 Chief Tactical officer, and 1 JAG. His grandfather on his mom's side was also a Starfleet Admiral before he died when Will was six. Will also has many cousins serving in Starfleet as well. On his fathers side, only his dad served in starfleet as a CONN officer and then later as a flight instructor at the Rota Base in Spain. Although his grandfather on his dad's side did serve as a politician on Earth, as well as the President of Pepperdine University in Malibu, California. On his dad's side Will has no cousin's in starfleet, and his sister has no plans of entering into Starfleet.

Will wanted to become an Operations officer because he has a love for managing things and as well as making sure things run smoothly, thanks mainly because of his interested in Business admistration. He views running a Starship like running a business except with a lot more circuitry, technology, and the fact that it is a ship, he aslo belived that ff all the positions available for him he fealt the OPS position best suited who he was. He is also interested in a postion as a CONN officer because he is very interested in flight, and flying things and also because when he would play "Starship" with his brothers he would always be the pilot.

Will was also engaged once, but he broke off his engament when he decided to enter Starfleet Academy as he didn't want to haver his fiance sacrifice her dreams and life for him, even though she was willing. He proposed to another woman his senior year in the academy but she declined because she wanted him to leave the academy for her, and she wasn't willing to sacrifice her dreams so that he could be a starfleet officer. He quickly ended the relationship.

Education

Starfleet Academy

Interplanetary Business and General Business Management Degree as well as an Aviation minor from the University of Oklahoma on Earth.

Jurist Doctorate from the University of Oklahoma on Earth through their outreach and correspondence program.

Pre Starfleet

He graduated from the University of Oklahoma with degrees in Interplanetary Business and General Business Management as well as a minor in Aviation. He was ready to go to law school when he decided instead he wanted to go into starfleet.

He entered the University of Oklahoma at age 18 in the year 2398. He was a walk on member of the football team who rapidly rose the depth chart do to his hard work, even though he was not athletic as some of his teammates. He was a fixture on the scout team and always practiced hard. This led to him earning the spot of deep snapper his junior year there. His senior year he became the reserve full back and had key blocks in the Earth Collegiate championship game when the starter was hurt. He graduated in the top 25% of his class on Stardate 2402.05.25.

Starfleet Career

Starfleet Academy

Starfleet Academy

In 2402 will offically began classes at the Starfleet Academy. He had chosen to go there rather then going to law school. He had an easy time adapting to life there, though, some of the current Academy football players were a little ticked seeing as Will as a member of the University of Oklahoma football team had beaten them in the Earth Collegiate Championship game the year before. Will also took law classes through a special correspondence outreach program offered by the University of Oklahoma to Starfleet cadets and Officers in the obtaining of post graduate degrees. Will took the classes in simulated environments at nights, supervised by an outreach instructor, a long with other students in a similar program. At the time he finished the academy, he had finished most of his course work but decided to pursue the ship career instead.

While at the academy his specialized in ship piloting systems, transporters and general operations. He also joined the debate team, and showed he was a good asset to them as he was named a captain his juior and senior years. He helped in capturing two Earth Collegiate Championships with them, as well as one Federation Intercollegiate Championship. He graduated number 15th in his class on Stardate 2406.05.15, he then took some advanced training classes and was shipped to his first duty station the USS Cochrane.

USS Cochrane

USS Cochrane

Will arrived on the USS Cochrane as an Ensign Junior Grade and was posted as a CONN/OPS Officer. However just mere days after his arrival the USS Cochrane was scheduled for decommissioning and Will was transfered to the USS Mystique.

USS Mystique

USS Mystique

On stardate 2406.11.05 Will arrived onboard the USS Mystique where he met Commander Remae Ktell. Remae was the CO of the USS Spectre, however due to the use of a Spectre in a special mission, Remae was demoted to Commander and made first officer of the Mystique. This meant that a good portion of the Spectre crew was on board as well. Will learned that his posting on the Mystique was only temporary, due to the fact that as soon as the Spectre was done with her mission he was to transfer over and become a part of her crew. During his day on the Mystique he aided in the removal of strange energy creatures that were attracted to the warp core.

On 2406.11.06,Will was given the rank of Ensign Senior Grade and moved over to the USS Spectre as her Chief Conning and Operations Officer.

USS Spectre

USS Spectre

Once on board the USS Spectre, Will settled in quite nicely. After getting a full crew at Starbase Geneva, Will participated against the Spectre in a tactical simulation, where he commanded the Runnabout Evangeline against his ship while in an asteroid field. This led to his promotion to Third Officer on Stardate 2406.11.11.

Later on with the Spectre on a mission to study a star they came across her sister ship the USS Phantom. Due to the machinations of some of the Phantoms crew he switched bodies with a manipulative Commander Steve Furrows. While on the Phantom Will discovered a way to switch their bodies back, and then destroyed all evidence and data of the body switching techinque so that it would not be replicated. Due to his actions on recapturing the Spectre, which was enroute to liberate a prison colony, he was awarded a Captains Commendation on Stardate 2406.11.13.

Soon after he was promoted to Lieutenant Junior Grade and took over Second Officer duties from Lt. Commander Pierce Orde. Will was rather pleased at his promotion so quickly, as well as shocked since he had only been out of the academy less then a year.

After the Phantom mission, Will went with the Spectre to Spacedock Phoenix where he aided in the refit and helped install a Strategic Operations Center.

Will was in temporary command of the Spectre while an away team headed up by First Officer Lt. T'Vhor and Captain Remae Ktell were on the surface of Betazed aiding the resistance there. While in command Will and the remaining senior staff worked to find a saboteur, sadly however he escaped on the Spectre's new type 11 shuttle. After being unable to beam the saboteur out, Will ordered its destruction, however the Saboteur escaped. Will was relieved of command by Lt. T'Vhor win the away team returned to the Spectre, although Captain Remae was injured severely on the mission.

Will has also gained a crush on Assistant Chief Science Officer Lt. JG Yayla Nollys, and has asked her out on a date. Their date went well but the relationship went no where thanks to his being transferred to the USS Dennison

On Stardate: 2407.01.18 Will was promoted to Lieutenant Senior Grade and offered the position of First Officer on the USS Dennison. He left the Spectre and awaited pick up on Starbase 375.

When Will entered the ready room he noticed T'Vhor reached for something from a drawer in the desk. He was intrigued as to what it is.

"Take a seat Will", said T`Vhor, "I recieved an important communique from command earlier, it concerns you", he added.

"Me sir, may I ask what this about?"

Will was beginning to get real curious, and his heart was pounding. ~Why would there be an important message about me?~

"It would seem that the USS Dennison is in need of a first officer", said T`Vhor, "If your up for it, the post is yours", he added.

~First Officer, you got to be kidding me, this is awesome, I mean, it's not on the Spectre, but still, how many Officers get this kind of opportunity after being out of the academy less than a year.~

"I'll take it sir." Will said eagerly, though in the back of his mind, he kept thinking he was forgetting something.

"That isn`t all Will", said T`Vhor sliding across a small black box towards Banowsky. "This comes irrespective of wether you take the position or not, I`m promoting you to Full Lieutenant active as of now", said T`Vhor.

"Thank you sir." Will said as he took the black pip off of his collar and added the second gold pip. He was now a full Lt. and he was extremely happy.

"We can rendevouz with the Dennison when we leave Starbase 375 or she can meet up with us here, it`s undecided as yet but we`ll get you onboard", said T`Vhor.

"Thank you sir, it was an honor serving with you, and I will do you and the Spectre proud." Will replied, he enjoyed his time on the Spectre, but it was time for a new journey.

"Enjoy this rest Will, make the most of the Starbase facilities whilst we are here, you`ve earned this, all the crew have", said T`Vhor as Will headed for the door.

"Oh & Will", said T`Vhor calling after him.

"Yes sir," Will said turning around "Congratulations", said T`Vhor, "I know you`ll make a fine First Officer"

"I hope to do you proud sir." Will replied as he left the ready room. Though he finally remembered the thing he was forgetting Nollys. He was forgetting abouyt her, about the woman he was beginning to fall for. Leaving the Spectre would mean leaving her.

~Yet another relationship ended due to Starfleet.~ Will thought to himself as he stood outside the door to the ready room.

Will was going to take the Dennison position but it would be with sadness that he left Nollys, he would miss her, but it would be ok in the end.

(Starbase 375-Temporay Quarters-Lt. Will Banowsky-10.30)

Will arrived at his temporary quarters, entered and laid down on the bed. He was no longer a member of the Spectre crew. He had fond memories of that ship and he was sure he was going to have more fond memories of the Dennison. But it was sad, his friendships there, may or may not last through this transfer, and he may never see the Spectre again. But such was life in starfleet, and this was the career he had chosen.

Will got up and headed over to the replicator. "Champagne" he said as he the grabbed his glass of replicated champagne and raised it and began a toast to all those on the Spectre he served with, specifically the staff members who he worked more closely with.

"To Captain Remae, to Lt. Commander T'Vhor, to Lt. Commander Schofield, to Lt. Commander Orde, to Ensign Morris, to Ensign Aiden, to Dr. Williams, to Nurse Douwsy, to Dr. Bentley, to Counselor Lronen, to Counselor Taxia, to Lt. Vasilyovna, to Ensign Fisher, to Ensign Angeletti, to Ensign H'Chir, to Ensign Archie, to Chief M'Rurrh, to Lt. Yayla, to Ensign Ronsworth, to Ensign McKenzie, to Ensign MacDonald, to Lt. Colonel Krige, to Ensign Lok, to Commander Tahlmari, to that new guy Lt. Rodriguez, to all new crew who may join the Spectre, to the Operations staff, to the Conning staff, to the Spectre, and to the Dennison, God bless, God bless."

Will then drank his glass and laid down on the bed. He was no longer Lt. Will Banowsky Chief Conning, Operation and Second Officer of the USS Spectre. As of now he was Lt. Will Banowsky First Officer of the USS Dennison. He was ready for his challenge, he was ready for his new task. He was ready, but he would still miss his old friends.

USS Dennison

USS Dennison

On Stardate: 2407.02.01 Will boarded the Dennison and assumed duties as First Officer. Also on on Stardate: 2407.02.01 Will was also promoted to the rank of Lieutenant Commander due in part what he accomplished during his time with the Spectre, the other half being on good faith from Captain Madison Davis that he will serve her and the Dennison well. While on the Dennison Will was present during the course of the Civil War and a few mishaps. There was the presence of a saboteur who murdered Chief Engineer Lt. Ryan Maines, as well as freak holodeck accident that saw the death of Strategic Operations Officer Lt. Thomas Loyola killed by a Holodeck vampire from one of Will's holodeck programs. After escaping the Holodeck, Will and the Dennison crew attempted to aid the USS Beowulf before it was destroyed, and rescued 5 of its crew, including Lt. Commander Michael Loyola the Beowulf first officer and brother of the recently deceased Thomas Loyola. During this time will had completed his Law Degree through the outreach program, as well attempted to date Beowulf Counselor Halima Thomas, who may or may not have been an ancestor of Captain Madison Davis, but that didn't get very far. After being jumped four months through time, Will stepped down as First Officer due to stress and accepted the position of Third Officer and Chief Conning Officer. This would be brief, as Will had, without anyone on the Dennison knowing, passed the Starfleet Bar exam and was accepted to the JAG corp on Starbase Geneva, where he served til the end of the war. Will felt as if he had been running away, but he blamed himself for the destruction of the Beowulf as well as the death of Lt. Loyola and felt he was not fit for Starship duty. So he pursued what he thought at the time was what he originally wanted to be.

Stardate: 2407.07.04

(USS Dennison-Conference Room-Lt. Commander William Banowsky-01.02)

Will had already been seated in the conference room when Commander West walked in. Will was dilligently working on paper work, and also trying to decide whether or not to count himself now as 27 years old instead of 26, seeing as how his birthday had passed during their jump, even though his body had officially aged 27 years. He was pretty certain that he would count himself as 27, and probably go out and celebrate.

Of course he had a major announcement to make, and that was one of the reason of the conference. The last few days, which literally felt like months to Will before the time job, caused him to reevaluate his life and make a choice that he hoped would positively impact his future. He was tired, stressed out, not enjoying his service, and overall burned out. He was young and had less then a year of service and had seen things it takes many people multiple years to witness in the line of duty. He had doubted himself and he had come to a decision. He was left groggy and weak after the incident with Nymes escaping sickbay, and then after recovery, to make matters worse, he came down with a 24 hour bug that found him confined to quarters left with nothing but his thoughts for 24 straight hours, while the rest of the crew was out doing there jobs. He felt as if he let them down. He liked being first officer, but at the same time, he didn't. So after deliberation, talking with the new counseling staff, and Captain Davis, all the while sitting on his bed wearing his pajamas (when he wasn't throwing up or to tired to even sit up). He had come to a decision that would utilize his command experience, but put him in a position to be most effective. The command expirement was a success, and Will thought he had done a good job, but emotionally he wasn't ready. Now if he was a Vulcan that wouldn't have been a problem, but he wasn't, he was only human. And as a human he just felt he needed to put himself in a postion that wouldn't burn him out. He definetly wanted to be a command officer and one day have his own ship, but only when the time was right, for him. Besides, the position he was taking was one he loved, and excelled at. Plus this decision would be one that best supported his desire to stay in Starfleet and lower the stress that was causing him to doubt his place in Starfleet.

(USS Dennison, Conference Room, Lt. Commander Will Banowsky, 0117)

Will listened as Commander West handed out the promotions and the awards. This was a great crew and they all deserved it. But he really didn't pay to much attention to the promotions, he was to wrapped up in his own thoughts, and what he was going to say. Will watched as Trevan walked back towards his seat,

"Now I believe Lieutenant Commander Banowsky has a few things to say to you all."

Will stood up,

"Yes I do commander, yes I do." Will paused, "First off we have a new crew members with us, Lt. Commander Eric McDermott, and we are going to be getting a new chief Conning Officer."

Will smiled, as he dropped a little red herring, "But first announcement. The last few days, I have been on the verge of mental breakdown. I have been through a lot in my short career. I have had my body swapped with a crazed lunatic, I have seen friends die when standing withing feet from me. I have been hounded by saboteurs, seen my CO come back from an away mission missing his legs. I thought I was ready for the stresses that are needed to be a First Officer. I know I did my best, and I did a good job, but I have gotten to a point where I am not sure this is where I need to be. Through much deliberation and discussion, I don't think I am ready for this. I enjoy being First Officer, but I rushed into something I may not have been ready for."

Will paused

"Therefore effective immediately I am stepping down from the position of First Officer. It was a tough move, but I feel I can better benefit Starfleet with another position in the Fleet. I enjoyed serving as First Officer of the Dennison, but it just wasn't the right place for me in this point in my career. It was a good time serving as your First Officer."

Will paused again. He was now ready for his other announcement. "Now on to the Chief Conning Officer, who will also fill the position of Third Officer. He is a good officer, I've known him for a long time. So everyone your new Third Officer and Chief Conning Officer is Lieutenant Commander" Will paused, hoping to add suspense to the matter, let his red herring sink in, and hopefully they would believe it to be Commander McDermott. "William Gonzalo Banowsky, thats right, I am not going anywhere, I have taken that position here on the Dennison. Now then back to Commander West, with an even more important announcement."

Stardate: 2407.07.07

(USS Dennison- Ready Room-Lt. Cmdr Banowsky-10.00)

Will entered the ready room with slow, uneasy steps. He was about to announce something, that he had debated over the last few days. It was of no shock to Will that his request was approved, he had an ample background to enter into his new position, and he was already eager to get started to work. It was something he had debated doing ever since he entered Starfleet, and when he noticed there was an opening, he had to jump at the chance. Will had become disillusioned with life on a starship, and he needed a change of pace. He had lost the passion that he had once eagerly displayed and was now faced with a tough crossroads. He did not want to leave Starfleet, that much was certain, but he no longer had the flare that he had loved so much. He didn't want to have his body swapped, he didn't want to exercise in war games with the Spectre while piloting a run about through an asteroid field, though he did have to admit it was fun.

He had thought over his decision carefully and diligently, it was not one to be made lightly, not one to rush. Not only did it mean a change of pace, but a change of scenery. He would be leaving behind a crew that he had grown attached too. Yet at the same time, Will realized that in life there are many paths and directions to take. He knew what he needed to do. His passion for law was burning. He had a chance to finally do something worthwhile with his knowledge of law, and of service. His career was still young, but he was feeling older. He would miss ship life, but where he was going, he would have new adventures, new excitement, and many more stories to tell. Thus, Will, slow, uneasy, unsure of what Commander West would say, approached the desk.

“I trust you have reviewed my transfer request sir.”

Trevan was dreading this momemt, “I have,” was all he said.

“I know it seems sudden sir, but I have been interested in the JAG corp since I was a cadet. When I saw the opening on Geneva, I knew it was something I need to do. It was a pleasure serving with you Commander. I trust the Dennison will be in good hands. I;m gonna miss her, I'm gonna miss this crew.......” Will paused, he was starting to tear up, which was odd, he wasn't normally a crier. “I uh, would also like to umm extend free legal service, if you ever need it sir.”

Trevan smiled at that one, “I appreciate it Will, but if no-one in Starfleet get's paid, isn't always free?” he said laughing. Standing Trevan shook the man's hand, “No, it's been a honour to serve with you.”

“Is there anything else you need me to do before I leave? And I'd like to address the crew as well.”

“No there is nothing I can think of, we will be passing fairly close to Geneva en-route to our mission so we can drop you off. We will arrive tomorrow. Feel free to adress the crew when you see fit.”

Starbase Geneva

Starbase Geneva

Served aboard Geneva in the Starfleet Judge Advocate General Corps (JAG) as a prosecutor before leaving temporarily for an assignment on the USS Hades. During his time he assisted in the Legal research side of prosecutions dealing with the events during the course of the civil war. Will did not get to prosecute these cases, and was then sent to prosecute misdemeanors as they felt it was a better use of his talents, because although he was a Lt. Commander he was a relative rookie to the legal field and the JAG corp.

USS Hades

USS Hades

In Early 2408 Will had temporarily been transferred as a JAG Officer to the USS Hades to aid in negotiations with the Romulans. Left quietly during that time to return to Starbase Geneva and the JAG Corp as this was a temporary assignment. He was assigned to this mission, as the JAG base on Starbase Geneva felt that a JAG with command and ship experience was better suited for a mission like this.

Stardate: 2408.01.06

(USS Hades - Ten Forward- Lt. Commander Banowsky- 07.00)

Will sat quietly eating his breakfast. Ever since the events that happened with the death of Ambassador Nolan and the injuries to Captain Sash will has been followed daily be security personnel. Will didn't mind it at first, but he was getting tired of being followed by security almost all day. Of course at the same time, he probably would have ordered the same thing if he was still in a position to do so. Besides it made him feel a little bit more important than normal, and Will didn't mind a little ego boost now and then. He was all caught up with paper work, and had done research on a lot of the legal precedents and history of Federation treaties with the Romulans and other planets in general. Enjoying his chocolate chip pancakes, the breakfast of champions, Will then turned to his security escort, and with a smile he made a small attempt at small talk.

"So, how long have you been on the hades?"

(reply any security personnel) (posted by Will Banowsky)

USS Humboldt

USS Humboldt

2408-While on return to Geneva from the Hades, Will immediately sent in a request to return to active Starship duty. His request was granted by the time his transport arrived at Geneva and he had just enough time to gather his things and head to his next assignment as CONN/OPS officer on board the Nebula Class ship the USS Humboldt, of which during his first mission on board reunited him with his old ship, the Spectre. His request was granted as the fleet was more than happy to return an officer with combat, and command experience to the fleet, when his skills in that area were being wasted. Will was more than happy to return to active duty as he felt certain now that he did not want to be a lawyer. While on the Humboldt he served primarily as a CONN officer and Chief of the Conning Department while the Assistant Chief of Operations. He also spent time as a mentor to the young officers in the Conning Department.

Stardate: 2408.06.08

(USS Humboldt - Personal Quarters - Lt. Cmdr Will Banowsky - 12:16)

Will was sitting on a couch in his quarters practicing his guitar and reminiscing at the beautiful sight outside his window. No, it wasn't space, it was the Spectre, to him the most beautiful ship in the fleet. Will had been at the helm of many different types of vessels, runabouts, shuttles, his former posting the USS Dennison, and the Humboldt, but nothing compared in his mind, to the helm of the Spectre. With phase cloak on, or with warp engines humming, she was for him, the ship he always longed for. He was sad that the Dennison had been destroyed sure, he was her former First officer after all, but nothing compared in his mind to the Spectre. He had served on her dillegently, his first posting lasting longer then a day. No ship he had served on could match up to the memories he had at her, the Dennison was a close second, but she was just that second. The Humboldt probably second to last on his last, last of course was his job in the JAG corp. He had thought that might have been what he wanted to do with his time in the service. But truly he had the itch for the helm. And after a couple detours, of the first officers jair, or the prosecutors desk, he was back, and even though the Humboldt wasn't the Spectre, at least he had a nice comfy chair at the helm. But he could almost reach out and touch her.

~Wouldn't it be awesome if the Captain let me go over there, you know to help out with repairs. I wonder whose living in my old quarters.~

His train of thought however was interupted by the not so melodic beep, at least compared to what he had been strumming on his guitar, of his comm badge.

/\Talasario to Lieutenant Commander Banowsky, please report to my ready room at the double/\

Tapping his comm badge he replied, "Aye sir, I'm on my way."

Then gently placing down his guitar and sipping up the over shirt of his uniform, which he liked to have unzipped whenever he had the chance. He quickly exited his quarters, wondering what was so urgent. Hopefully he wasn't in trouble, or that the captain didn't have any questions on prosecutions by the JAG office,he had been asked many times before by other crew members if he had any knowledge of some of the prosecutions on Geneva, of some of there bodies, most were common misdemeanours, bar fights, etc., he didn't have any knowledge of that of course. When he left the JAG office, he stopped keeping up with the docket. It bored him, it wasn't as exciting as the helm. Hopefully that isn't what the captain wanted to know, if any of his friends had minor cases going on at Geneva.

(USS Humboldt - Captain's Ready Room - Lt. Cmdr Will Banowsky - 12:22)

Entering the ready room, Will noticed that Captain Talasario never took his eyes off of his terminal. After being pointed to a chair across from the Captain, Will obliged and sat down.

"I did", said the Captain who then settled back into his chair. He took a deep breath and clasped his hands together before him upon the table, then he began.

"How long have you been with us Lieutenant Commander?", he enquired, knowing the answer already of course but still requiring the answer anyway.

"Since we left for this current assignment sir." Will replied.

Talasario nodded.

"And how do you like your tour of duty so far?", he asked.

"No complaints, beats prosecuting drunken crewman and cocky ensigns who start bar fights. I enjoy being back on a bridge behind the helm. I would say I enjoy it. The Humboldt is a great ship, and I feel confident in my abilities to pilot her." Will replied. He had misgivings about the Captain, due to the civil war. Will spent the early part of his time as a JAG doing research for prosecutions of some war crimes and the like involved with the civil war before he was moved to a lead prosecutor in the misdemeanor, or as it is commonly referred to, the drunk tank circuit, not to mention Will's being a veteran of the Civil War. However despite Will's feelings about the war, he had come trust Captain Talasario and respect him, and like all the commanding officers he had served under, he would give his life for him.

"Your record is exemplory, you are what some might consider to be a model officer, good at their job and an accomplished command player", Talasario said.

"Ummm thank you sir, I'm honored to hear that." Will said a bit confused and taken aback.

Talasario quirked his head slightly and raised his brow in a display of apparent uncertainty himself, then he broached the subject proper.

"The fact of the matter Lieutenant Commander, is that command has seen fit to transfer you to another vessel", said the Captain. "In their infinite wisdom, it would seem that they feel that your abilities are much more suited to a ship of war than those of a Science vessel", he added.

"I'm being transferred sir, but we are all the away at the edge god knows where. Where am I being transferred to?" Will was very intrigued and confused, he had no idea why he was being transferred. He enjoyed being on the Humboldt, she wasn't as sleek at the helm the Spectre or the Dennison were, but he was probably the best helmsan the Humboldt had, and though he had trained some of the young ensigns in the CONN department, and they had gotten pretty good, he was wondering why he was being transferred now, and to where.

Will was not prepared to leave, he had been on the Humboldt for about 5 months and he wasn't ready to leave another crew.

"Gather your things together immediately Lieutenant Commander, you are hereby relinquished of all duties on board the Humboldt and are cleared for disembark. Report to the Spectre at your leisure", said the Captain as he removed the drink he had just requested from the aperture of the replicator to take a slow sip of the cool juice.

"Aye sir, is there anything else?" Will was pleased to be returning to the Spectre but did not want to outwardly show it to the Captain.

"That is all Lieutenant Commander, you are dismissed", said Talasrio curtly.

"Before I go captain, I just want you to know, that it has been an honor serving you, and I mean that sincerely." Will then made his exit to pack.

USS Spectre

USS Spectre

Will was transferred back to the Spectre sometime after his posting aboard the Humboldt. During his first day back he led an away mission on board the Shuttlecraft Crusader to repair the Spectre's hull. During the repairs a freak accident critically injured Lt. JG Adams and Ensign JG Talbot.

(USS Spectre - Transporter Room 1 - Lt. Cmdr Will Banowsky - 13:00)

It took Will roughly 30 minutes to pack, of course he did have some help from a couple young ensigns who were both sad and happy to see him go. Sad because Will was almost a mentor to the young ensigns, but happy to have the Commander out of the CONN department, meaning an easier shot of becoming the Chief Conning officer. After he was packed, they helped him bring his belongings to the transporter room, and saying his goodbyes he was beamed over to the Spectre.

Once there, a couple crewman were present to help accommodate the bringing of his belongings to his new quarters which by some luck of the draw just so happened to be a vacant room, a room will knew all to well. His old room.

However that was not his first destination, his first destination was to pay a visit to an old friend.

Tapping his commbadge he smiled, "Lt. Commander Banowsky to Captain T'Vhor, permission to come aboard sir."

(USS Spectre - Ready Room - Lt. Cmdr Will Banowsky - 14:01)

Will pressed the chime and entered the ready room. It didn't look to different from the last time he was in it, though it still took him a bit to adjust to Captain T'Vhor behind the desk, as he was used to it being Captain Remae, but it would be fine, he liked serving with Captain T'Vhor.

"It's been awhile sir," Will said, unsure of what to say. He wanted to treat Captain T'Vhor like an old friend, but at the same time, he was the Commanding officer.

"It has Will", said the Captain, referring to the officer by first name now in respect of their old friendship.

"You wanted to meet with me sir?" "It's been awhile sir", said the Lieutenant Commander as he gripped the Captains hand in a Human handshake. "I did indeed... I have read through your starfleet file with interest, noting that you have been far from idle since leaving us", said the Captain.

"I did indeed... I have read through your starfleet file with interest, noting that you have been far from idle since leaving us", said the Captain.

"Well I've done a little here and there. Was a first officer on the Dennison, did some work as member of the JAG corp on Geneva, went to Romulus with the Hades, didn't get any Romulan Ale though. Decided I wanted to go back to Starship duty, and when a Lieutenant Commander with command experience says the want to go back to serving on a Starship, they generally say yes. Got on the Humboldt, got behind the Helm, mentored some ensigns, and then one day I wake up and they say, hey your going to the Spectre, and all I could say was thanks." Will said, in a friendly joking manor. He was very excited to be back on the Spectre.

"Captain Talasario is a good Captain, however, I fear that he lacks support from some in Starfleet..... the Alacrity situation no doubt fueling that lack of support", said the Captain.

"That being sad, sir, Talasario is a good captain, and though certain things are in the past, however recent they may be, but like all my former commanding officers, I'd put my life on the line for him." Will said, obviously not wanting to get into a conversation about Captain Talasrio's actions during the Civil War.

"But less of this right now, how have you been? I wasn't aware of your transfer until the last moment but it is..... 'agreeable' that you are back on board the Spectre", said T'Vhor.

"I've been good, been all over the place, and I wasn't aware of my transfer up until 2 hours ago, but I'm not gonna lie, I was very excited to be moving back. Looking out at the Spectre, I was pretty jealous of the crew on board."

"And I trust that your quarters are satisfactory?", asked the Captain, having already arranged for them to be the ones that he used beforehand.

"It feel almost as if I never left sir, almost..." Will paused, he had left, and he had been gone, and it was evident to him that the current crew was not the same as the crew he had previously served with.

The Captain then stood and made his way to the replicator.

"May I get you something?", he asked.

"Yes sir," Will said as he looked at the replicator, how many times before had Captain Remae offered him a drink from that exact same replicator. "I'll take a glass of water."

Will then waited until T'Vhor had handed him a glass of water and the both sat down. Then taking a nice sip of water, Will looked at the Captain spoke.

"So how have you been sir?"

I've been well, apart from a slight episode of recurring Risan flu", he said settling back into his seat, "but then, it could always be worse"

"I will probably say this a million times, but it is very good to be back on board sir. Looking out from my window, seeing the Spectre, it was almost as if she was taunting me, saying haha, I'm so close but you won't get to serve on me. Nanner nanner boo boo. Or something like that." Will was obviously getting a little too excited.

"Nanner nanner boo boo Will?", he inquired with a raise of an eyebrow.

On hearing this, Will began to chuckle. "Its an old earth phrase used by children in taunt or in mocking. Basically like I have the toy and you don't nanner nanner boo boo,”

"Sure beats the hell out of desk work. You think going to the JAG corp after a civil war there would be some fun cases. And sure, there were some stuff I did early, with legal research. But even though I was a Lieutenant Commander, and was experienced as an officer, I wasn't as lawyer. So when all the other Commanders, and even Lieutenants got to do bigger stuff, I had the experience of an ensign, and like them got stuck prosecuting bar fights. Thought JAG was my calling, but I didn't know it until I went to Romulus on the Hades, and I only got that gig cause of my star ship experience, how much I missed serving on Starship, and that when I left the Dennison, I left my calling."

"I see", said the Captain.

"So tell me Captain, do you know anything more about my transfer, Captain Talasario only mentioned that my skills were better suited on board a ship of war, and not a science vessel."

Captain T'Vhor pursed his lips in a kind of 'uncertain' manner, then he placed his glass upon the table.

"The exact reason escapes me, I would imagine though that your past experience on Spectre and your extensive operations skills have played a part in that", said the Captain, "despite the termination of the civil war, Starfleet are not in a position of solidity in regards the larger playing field so to speak. The Romulans are STILL untrusting, their ambassador to the Galactic Cooperative is known to have once urged a pre-emptive strike upon the Federation", said the Captain.

"In short Will, the situation is not as stable as some would have you believe and we need all our good command officers in key positions on front line vessels", he added.

"Haven't really looked at it that way. Kinda haven't been keep up to date on the state of the fleet, just been trying to making sure I do a good job."

"You remember Lieutenant Commander Rogers?", said the Captain, "he can update you on fleet situation if you so desire, other than that, how Starfleet chooses to move it's game pieces upon the board is not our main concern, all we have to do is go where we are asked", he added.

"Well, I can do what is asked of me sir, and I don't think I have met Commander Rogers." Will said as he reflected on how little he really knew about the status of the fleet.

The Captain took another sip of his drink and then brought up the question of their operational status.

"As for right now, The Spectre is currently on yellow alert pending repairs to our Engineering section and Ops is currently being flexed to it's capacity", he said, "I could use you on the bridge liasing with H;Chir's Engineers as soon as your able"

"I can do that, I've always been fond of the Spectre's bridge." Will

"Excellent, Chief of Ops, Lieutenant Chennol will bring you up to date on all aspects of our power situation, you should also be aware that decks Thirteen and Fourteen are currently..... indiscriminate, in absolute usage values", said the Captain.

"Well, i've got experience in trying to bring the Spectre back up to shape, not this far out in the middle of nowhere, but hey, we do what we can with the hand we are dealt." Will said, knowing this wasn't exactly like the day he first boarded the Spectre. Yeah she was trashed then, but she was trashed by a celebrating all Marine crew, not a space battle.

"Then all that is left for you to do is to take your position when your ready", said the Captain as he stood and then moved from behind his table so as to return to the bridge, Will following close behind him.
