Hi! I'm a player here on Star Trek: Freedom. I've played the game for four years. I've had various stints in command, and I was one of the first players here to really get into the STF wiki.

I'm 19 yeas old, and currently living in the suburbs outside Milwaukee, Wisconsin. I'm attending university at the moment. I learned to read at an early age, and haven't really stopped. I like to write, and probably have an overactive imagination. Outside of these sort of things, I enjoy watching sport (mainly baseball and auto racing, thought I love all forms), playing video games, flying light aircraft, and other lots of things. My favorite movie is Children of Men. My favorite book is Atlas Shrugged.

I joined the game in 2004 at the age of 14. About six months after I joined, they changed the minimum age to 16, hopefully, not thanks to me. I was assigned to Starbase Geneva with my slightly insane counselor, Brian Rogers. In the summer of 2005, I was given my first taste of command, as my character served as Acting Third Officer of Geneva. I thought I was talented, but it turned out that the guy in charge just wanted me to do the compiles and watch the place while he went on a month long holiday to Australia!

Geneva's crew was sent to the Boudicca, and I was stripped from my acting 3O position, which was barely a command position (if at all). The Boudicca and Geneva crews didn't merge well, and my old buds from Geneva were dropping from the game like flies. Going back to just writing a counselor seemed boring after being the A3O, and I fell into a slump and didn't feel like playing the game. During this time, I came across the Wiki here on STF. This was before the current Web 2.0 Wiki craze we have now, and this wiki was wildly under used. I think Tony had only added three or four articles at that point. I decided to start editing things and making all sorts of new things. I've had my hand in a lot of important projects here on the Wiki, and I'm proud of that.

Thankfully, a sign came from Alan Reading, who asked me to be his First Officer on the USS Spectre. This was in April of 2006, and at age 15, only 20 months of playing the game I had advanced to First Officer, a rather exciting proposition. I had a SPC on most other ships in the fleet, and I was writing like crazy. I taught in the Academy for a short while (seemingly a stop for all command staffers, or wannabe ones.)

However, this is where my Alex Rodriguez-like career took a sharp derailment.

Thanks to my raging teenage hormones, my posts and interest in the Spectre started to drop. In the summer of 2007, Alan had to play 'bad cop' and told me he strongly suggested that I start posting more often. I agreed, but then, in the late fall of '07, I decided that I didn't want to drag Alan and the Spectre down with my low posting numbers, so I resigned from the game. Alan told me that I would lose all my characters, my rank, everything. I was worried, but, at the time, I had no intention to return the game. I deleted my extravagant wiki user page and replaced it with "All Good Things..."

Fast forward to March 2008. Something is digging at me, and I can't explain it. I'm sitting, watching Babylon 5 on DVD, thinking about science-fiction command, rank, orders, all sort of these issues. I started investigating the STF fleet rosters. Seeing who replaced me, who all the CO's were now, how the fleet was doing. But, just dallying around the rosters wasn't enough. I drop a line to Alan Reading. I ask a BIG favor. Even though he had told me previously I was surrendering my previous characters, rank and experience, and would have to start over at the ground level, I asked if I could come back with Rogers, at my previous rank. Alan being Alan, he agreed.

That, as they say is that.

Fast forward to March 2008. Something is digging at me, and I can't explain it. I'm sitting, watching Babylon 5 on DVD, thinking about science-fiction command, rank, orders, all sort of these issues. I started investigating the STF fleet rosters. Seeing who replaced me, who all the CO's were now, how the fleet was doing. But, just dallying around the rosters wasn't enough. I drop a line to Alan Reading. I ask a BIG favor. Even though he had told me previously I was surrendering my previous characters, rank and experience, and would have to start over at the ground level, I asked if I could come back with Rogers, at my previous rank. Alan being Alan, he agreed.

So now, I'm a jaded ex-Command veteran player. I write two characters on the Spectre, one of whom is controversial, with whom I'm perpetually pushing my limits as a rank-and-file player on the Spectre. I find being out of the command staff sort of refreshing. My responsibilities are just to write and have fun, and I don't feel burdened by worrying about trying to advance my STF 'career'. As I told Alan the other day, "I've got nothing left to prove." I still like chatting with Alan about NRPG issues, though he's a lot more tight-lipped since I'm not his FO anymore... ;-)

He orginally wanted to join the ASDF, but in 2391, a secondary school teacher of his influenced him to go above and beyond his dreams and aim for [[Starfleet]]. Khran didn't think he was good enough to enter, but agreed to try. Later that year, violent riots broke out in certain neighborhoods in Andoria's captial city. Khran's mother was killed by a crude explosive device and Khran's father was paralysed from the wasit down and unable to speak to communicate. This event changed Khran, he became cold, closed and quiet. He applied to the Academy and be a Tactical Major.

Khran got a below-average grade on the entrance exam, but was still passing. He was accepted and was excited about moving to Earth. Khran was worried that he would never get accepted has a TAC/SEC because of his lesser ability in Tactical.

One day after a evening workout, Khran was ambushed by eight upper classmen, all humans. Khran was able to fight them off, but was seriously injuried. He grew to dislike human-esque spices (Humans, Betazoids, Vulcans, Bajorans). He returned to his quarters to find a subspace message from Andoria, his father, after years of being paralysed, slipped into a coma, and shortly there after passed away.

Khran was devastated, but focused his energy into his studies. Depsite his anger at humans, he was still kind to all professors, including human ones. During his third year, he began seeing a young Bolian female named Chenoll, who was an Engineering major. Despite Chenoll's wacky, outgoing and loud personality, and Khran's quiet, reserved, and cold personality, the two got a long and began a romantic relationship.

One night, after a nice date, Khran and Chenoll had an argument over Khran's opinions on humans. It evolved into Chenoll running away and never speaking to Khran again. Khran, with no known living relatives, and no other friends, closed himself off more and more and focused on his studies.

The Tac/Sec brushed him off and ignored him.

Khran's fellow crewmates in the Security Department encouraged him to go to the Rettinger's first officer, mayber to her captain and ask again, but Khran choose not to. He respected the chain of command and chose not to go over the Tac/Sec's head. Khran was promoted to Ensign (SG) during his time on the Rettinger.

Khran got his moment to shine later when the USS Rettinger was attacked by a band of criminals who had the goal of kidnapping the Federation Ambassador to [[Angel One]]. The USS Rettinger was disabled and the ship was boarded. Khran lead a group of junior officers and retook several important crew areas, including Main Engineering and Ten Forward (important because of the large amount of captured crewmembers there). However, Khran wasn't promoted or awarded a medal for his actions. Khran however, didn't complain and kept his respect, and refused to tell the FO about his complishments during the hostile takeover.

Finally, when Khran's friends in the Security Divison went to the first officer with good reports of Khran's actions, the Tac/Sec put in a request directly to the CO for his transfer, and it was granted. Khran was transferred off the Rettinger.

However, a criminal group had hijacked another [[Starfleet]] ship called the USS Call of Duty. The USS Call of Duty attacked the USS Pillar of Autumn. Shortly after, the criminals boarded the USS Pillar of Autumn with intent to take control and have two Starfleet vessels under their command. Khran led a small assault force and retook the bridge. He then took the Tactical controls and disabled the USS Call of Duty, leaving the criminals onboard stranded. Shortly after, Khran was able to send a distress message to the Fleet, where it was answered by the USS Wright. The USS Call of Duty was taken to port, while Khran was promoted to Lieutenant (junior grade) and assigned Assistant Tactical/Security.

I'm 18 yeas old, and currently living in the suburbs outside Milwaukee, Wisconsin. I go to high (secondary) school, and I plan to attend university in the fall, studying Software Engineering. I learned to read at an early age, and haven't really stopped. I like to write, and probably have an overactive imagination. I also have a hell of an ego (just see that embellished player history). Outside of these sort of things, I enjoy watching sport (mainly baseball and auto racing, thought I love all forms), playing video games, flying light aircraft, and other lots of things. I joined the game in 2004 at the age of 14. About six months after I joined, they changed the minimum age to 16, thank goodness for the grandfather clause. I was assigned to Starbase Geneva with my slightly insane counselor, Brian Rogers. In the summer of 2005, I was given my first taste of command, as my character served as Acting Third Officer of Geneva. I thought I was talented, but it turned out that the guy in charge just wanted me to do the compiles and watch the place while he went on a month long holiday to Australia!

Geneva's crew was sent to the Boudicca, and I was stripped from my acting 3O position, which was barely a command position (if at all). The Boudicca and Geneva crews didn't merge well, and my old buds from Geneva were dropping from the game like flies. Going back to just writing a counselor seemed boring after being the A3O, and I fell into a slump and didn't feel like playing the game. During this time, I came across the Wiki here on STF. This was before the current Web 2.0 Wiki craze we have now, and this wiki was wildly under used. I decided to start editing things and making all sorts of new things. I've had my hand in a lot of important projects here on the Wiki, and I'm proud of that.

Thankfully, a sign came from Alan Reading, who asked me to be his First Officer on the USS Spectre. This was in April of 2006, and at age 15, only 20 months of playing the game I had advanced to First Officer, a rather exciting proposition. I had a SPC on most other ships in the fleet, and I was writing like crazy. I taught in the Academy for a short while (seemingly a stop for all command staffers, or wannabe ones.)

However, this is where my Alex Rodriguez-like career took a sharp derailment.

Thanks to my raging teenage hormones, my posts and interest in the Spectre started to drop. In the summer of 2007, Alan had to play 'bad cop' and told me he strongly suggested that I start posting more often. I agreed, but then, in the late fall of '07, I decided that I didn't want to drag Alan and the Spectre down with my low posting numbers, so I resigned from the game. Alan told me that I would lose all my characters, my rank, everything. I was worried, but, at the time, I had no intention to return the game. I deleted my extravagant wiki user page and replaced it with "All Good Things..."

Robert Verhoven was born in the region of Earth known has Germany sometime in 2327. His father was a strict taskmaster who made young Robert work hard and apply himself in everything he did. His parents were both anti-military, and often spoke baddly of Starfleet. Robert decided he wanted to be an Engineer, and thought about joining Starfleet, however, his parents were heavily against it, and he insteaded decided to go the civillian route and went to the California Institute of Technology.

Verhoven went to California Institute of Technology (commonly called CalTech). He was there a total of 6 years, and got a Master's degree in Warp Engineering. During this time, he began to dream up various interesting and new styles of faster-than-light travel. He hoped to be hired by a big civillian starship company, however that wasn't the case.

=== Freelance Engineering Work ===

Verhoven began working has Chief Engineer on various cargo vessels, usually for one or two cargo runs before he would leave and then get picked up by another ship. He made his rounds aronud the Alpha and Beta quadrant, however, unlike other cargo runners, he didn't have a taste for heavy drinking or fast women. He realized this wasn't the life for him and he decided to attend the Daystrom Insitute.

Verhoven arrived at the Daystrom Institute of Technology and began working towards his Doctorate in Warp Engineering. During this time he worked has an assoicate professor for undergraduate classes. Finally, he finished his work and became Dr. Verhoven, however he often didn't use that title. He was hired has a warp design specialist and moved to Alpha Centauri.

=== Alpha Centauri Luxury Shuttles ===

Robert went to work for Alpha Centarui Luxury Shuttles, or ACLS, a for-profit company that makes high-end luxury shuttles for civillians. The weathly company allowed Robert to start work on a new faster-than-light alternative to warp travel, in return for overseeing the refit of older shuttles' warp drives. He was enjoying himself and worked here for a number of years, however, the company was bought by a Ferengi conglomerate. The Ferengi brass, not seeing the point of pursuing alternatives to warp travel, closed down Verhoven's lab. I'm 18 yeas old, and currently living in the suburbs outside Milwaukee, Wisconsin. I go to high (secondary) school, and I plan to attend university in the fall, studying Software Engineering. I learned to read at an early age, and haven't really stopped. I like to write, and probably have an overactive imagination. I also have a hell of an ego (just see that embellished player history). Outside of these sort of things, I enjoy watching sport (mainly baseball and auto racing, thought I love all forms), playing video games, flying light aircraft, and other lots of things. My favorite television show is The Prisoner. My favorite movie is Children of Men. My favorite book is Atlas Shrugged. Politically, I lean right-of-center.

I joined the game in 2004 at the age of 14. About six months after I joined, they changed the minimum age to 16, thank goodness for the grandfather clause. I was assigned to Starbase Geneva with my slightly insane counselor, Brian Rogers. In the summer of 2005, I was given my first taste of command, as my character served as Acting Third Officer of Geneva. I thought I was talented, but it turned out that the guy in charge just wanted me to do the compiles and watch the place while he went on a month long holiday to Australia!

Geneva's crew was sent to the Boudicca, and I was stripped from my acting 3O position, which was barely a command position (if at all). The Boudicca and Geneva crews didn't merge well, and my old buds from Geneva were dropping from the game like flies. Going back to just writing a counselor seemed boring after being the A3O, and I fell into a slump and didn't feel like playing the game. During this time, I came across the Wiki here on STF. This was before the current Web 2.0 Wiki craze we have now, and this wiki was wildly under used. I decided to start editing things and making all sorts of new things. I've had my hand in a lot of important projects here on the Wiki, and I'm proud of that.

Thankfully, a sign came from Alan Reading, who asked me to be his First Officer on the USS Spectre. This was in April of 2006, and at age 15, only 20 months of playing the game I had advanced to First Officer, a rather exciting proposition. I had a SPC on most other ships in the fleet, and I was writing like crazy. I taught in the Academy for a short while (seemingly a stop for all command staffers, or wannabe ones.)

However, this is where my Alex Rodriguez-like career took a sharp derailment.

Thanks to my raging teenage hormones, my posts and interest in the Spectre started to drop. In the summer of 2007, Alan had to play 'bad cop' and told me he strongly suggested that I start posting more often. I agreed, but then, in the late fall of '07, I decided that I didn't want to drag Alan and the Spectre down with my low posting numbers, so I resigned from the game. Alan told me that I would lose all my characters, my rank, everything. I was worried, but, at the time, I had no intention to return the game. I deleted my extravagant wiki user page and replaced it with "All Good Things..."

Fast forward to March 2008. Something is digging at me, and I can't explain it. I'm sitting, watching Babylon 5 on DVD, thinking about science-fiction command, rank, orders, all sort of these issues. I started investigating the STF fleet rosters. Seeing who replaced me, who all the CO's were now, how the fleet was doing. But, just dallying around the rosters wasn't enough. I drop a line to Alan Reading. I ask a BIG favor. Even though he had told me previously I was surrendering my previous characters, rank and experience, and would have to start over at the ground level, I asked if I could come back with Rogers, at my previous rank. Alan being Alan, he agreed.

So now, I'm a jaded ex-Command veteran player. I write two characters on the Spectre, one of whom is controversial, with whom I'm perpetually pushing my limits as a rank-and-file player on the Spectre. I find being out of the command staff sort of refreshing. My responsibilities are just to write and have fun, and I don't feel burdened by worrying about trying to advance my STF 'career'. As I told Alan the other day, "I've got nothing left to prove." I still like chatting with Alan about NRPG issues, though he's a lot more tight-lipped since I'm not his FO anymore... ;-)

== History ==

=== Pre-Starfleet Life ===

Miller was born to a lower-class family of citizens. His parents and older brothers and sisters all worked on building commerical, civillian [[Starship|Starships]]. There life's ambition was to get promoted to
[[Utopia Planitia]] Fleet Yards. Miller was a very smart young man, who knew a lot about engineering , but never finished a formal schooling, so he was not able to even complete the Starfleet Academy entrance exam.

Dejected, he returned to Jupiter Station and planned on taking his place on building the next big cargo vessel, when he told his story to the Starfleet [[Second Officer|2O]] at Jupiter Station. The officer told him about the wonderful world of Noncomissioned Officers and Miller left for the Starfleet Noncomissioned School for Engineering.

=== Starfleet's Noncomissioned School ===

Miller enjoyed going to Engineering school, but was treated for depression many times. Also, the medical officer reported that Miller appeared to be abnormally losing weight, a sign of not eating. Miller began taking a combination of anti-depression medication and a series of holo-therapy programs.

Miller completed the school with a full degree and was 'hired' by Starfleet to work has an Engineering Support Officer. He was given the rank of [[Crewman Apprentice]].

=== First Assignment, USS Hugo ===

Miller was sent to work on the USS Hugo, a Excelsior-class ship. The ship was a refitted science ship and Miller found his crewmates very friendly to him. However, he did not feel challenged since the ship required very little engineering work.

On one occasion, a young ensign who was at CONN during Gamma Shift accidently pilotted the ship too close to a quantum singularity. In the escape from the event horizon, many of the ship's systems are seriously damaged. Miller and his crewmates get to 'show their stuff' has they must get the ship working enough. The ship was jury-rigged enough to limp back to a [[starbase]] and there were no deaths. Following his hard work, his was promoted to [[Crewman]].

=== Second Assignment, USS Ebon Hawk ===

When the hostities between [[Robert LoDona|LoDona's]] forces and [[Admiral Doenitz|Doentiz']] forces and it appeared war may happen, Miller was transferred from the science ship, to the heavy crusier USS Ebon Hawk, an Akira-class ship. Miller grew to dislike his time on the Ebon Hawk, has it had a larger crew than the Hugo, and he didn't feel like his recommendations got heard by the [[Chief Engineering Officer|CEO]].

However, Miller's skills were called into action when the USS Ebon Hawk and a ship loyal to Doentiz suddenly found themselves. The two ships, not wishing to cause a full-scale battle (possibly one of the first of the conflict) exchaged warning shots over each hull when they both turned and left. Then, the other ship appeared out of warp, cutting off the Ebon Hawk, and fired torpedos. The USS Ebon Hawk was critically hit, and seriously damaged. Miller's deck was sealed off the rest of the ship, and he led a small group of other enlisted men to safety, before returning to to Main Engineering (which was full of various gases) and helpping repair the critical systems, so the Ebon Hawk could return to a safe port. For his actions, he was promoted to [[Petty Officer 3rd Class]].

=== Third Assignment, Starbase Geneva ===

Miller was shipped to a safe port of [[Starbase Geneva]]. He was only there a short time before he was again being bullied by other enlisted men. He went to speak to [[Brian Rogers]], the station's new counselor, however, Rogers was rude. Miller went to [[Paul Casely]] to complain, but Rogers later apologized and the two began counselling, and became friends.

When a strange planet appeared and the people spoke pre-warp English, Casely gave Ensign Rogers the task of making a translation device that could translate. Rogers needed help with the engineering side of the job, and asked Miller to help. Jason agreed. The mission was a success, and both Rogers and Miller were promoted (Miller to [[Petty Officer 2nd Class]]) and Rogers was given a medal. Miller was not angry that he wasn't awarded, because Rogers had to go on the Away Misison, aswell.

After that Miller's life settled down. He had little involvment in the senior staff's operations has he went about his duties. He was bullied by a Ensign named Jenkins, and when he went to [[Kaitlyn Mackenzie]] to be healed, she repramaned Jenkins.

=== Fourth Assignment, USS Boudicca ===

On the runabout flight back to the Boudicca, disaster struck and the Geneva-transfers were marooned on a planet, which a large majority of the Boudicca crew was aswell. Miller was seriously injuried and was operated on when they returned to the sickbay of the Boudicca.

Miller was released from sickbay weeks later by Dr. [[Kaitlyn Mackenzie]]. He was upbeat and excited about returning to duty, so he reported to Lt. I'm 18 yeas old, and currently living in the suburbs outside Milwaukee, Wisconsin. I go to high (secondary) school, and I plan to attend university in the fall, studying Software Engineering. I learned to read at an early age, and haven't really stopped. I like to write, and probably have an overactive imagination. I also have a hell of an ego (just see that embellished player history). Outside of these sort of things, I enjoy watching sport (mainly baseball and auto racing, thought I love all forms), playing video games, flying light aircraft, and other lots of things. I joined the game in 2004 at the age of 14. About six months after I joined, they changed the minimum age to 16, thank goodness for the grandfather clause. I was assigned to Starbase Geneva with my slightly insane counselor, Brian Rogers. In the summer of 2005, I was given my first taste of command, as my character served as Acting Third Officer of Geneva. I thought I was talented, but it turned out that the guy in charge just wanted me to do the compiles and watch the place while he went on a month long holiday to Australia!

Geneva's crew was sent to the Boudicca, and I was stripped from my acting 3O position, which was barely a command position (if at all). The Boudicca and Geneva crews didn't merge well, and my old buds from Geneva were dropping from the game like flies. Going back to just writing a counselor seemed boring after being the A3O, and I fell into a slump and didn't feel like playing the game. During this time, I came across the Wiki here on STF. This was before the current Web 2.0 Wiki craze we have now, and this wiki was wildly under used. I decided to start editing things and making all sorts of new things. I've had my hand in a lot of important projects here on the Wiki, and I'm proud of that.

Thankfully, a sign came from Alan Reading, who asked me to be his First Officer on the USS Spectre. This was in April of 2006, and at age 15, only 20 months of playing the game I had advanced to First Officer, a rather exciting proposition. I had a SPC on most other ships in the fleet, and I was writing like crazy. I taught in the Academy for a short while (seemingly a stop for all command staffers, or wannabe ones.)

However, this is where my Alex Rodriguez-like career took a sharp derailment.

Thanks to my raging teenage hormones, my posts and interest in the Spectre started to drop. In the summer of 2007, Alan had to play 'bad cop' and told me he strongly suggested that I start posting more often. I agreed, but then, in the late fall of '07, I decided that I didn't want to drag Alan and the Spectre down with my low posting numbers, so I resigned from the game. Alan told me that I would lose all my characters, my rank, everything. I was worried, but, at the time, I had no intention to return the game. I deleted my extravagant wiki user page and replaced it with "All Good Things..."

Fast forward to March 2008. Something is digging at me, and I can't explain it. I'm sitting, watching Babylon 5 on DVD, thinking about science-fiction command, rank, orders, all sort of these issues. I started investigating the STF fleet rosters. Seeing who replaced me, who all the CO's were now, how the fleet was doing. But, just dallying around the rosters wasn't enough. I drop a line to Alan Reading. I ask a BIG favor. Even though he had told me previously I was surrendering my previous characters, rank and experience, and would have to start over at the ground level, I asked if I could come back with Rogers, at my previous rank. Alan being Alan, he agreed.

So now, I'm a jaded ex-Command veteran player. I write two characters on the Spectre, one of whom is controversial, with whom I'm perpetually pushing my limits as a rank-and-file player on the Spectre. I find being out of the command staff sort of refreshing. My responsibilities are just to write and have fun, and I don't feel burdened by worrying about trying to advance my STF 'career'. As I told Alan the other day, "I've got nothing left to prove." I still like chatting with Alan about NRPG issues, though he's a lot more tight-lipped since I'm not his FO anymore... ;-)

Khran's mother was killed by a crude explosive device and Khran's father was paralysed from the wasit down and unable to speak to communicate. This event changed Khran, he became cold, closed and quiet. He applied to the Academy and be a Tactical Major.

He grew to dislike human-esque spices (Humans, Betazoids, Vulcans, Bajorans). He returned to his quarters to find a subspace message from Andoria, his father, after years of being paralysed, slipped into a coma, and shortly there after passed away.

Khran was devastated, but focused his energy into his studies. Depsite his anger at humans, he was still kind to all professors, including human ones. During his third year, he began seeing a young Bolian female named Chenoll, who was an Engineering major. Despite Chenoll's wacky, outgoing and loud personality, and Khran's quiet, reserved, and cold personality, the two got a long and began a romantic relationship.

One night, after a nice date, Khran and Chenoll had an argument over Khran's opinions on humans. It evolved into Chenoll running away and never speaking to Khran again. Khran, with no known living relatives, and no other friends, closed himself off more and more and focused on his studies.

Following the retirement of Captain Rogers, the USS Wilson was decomissioned with her CO, and Ensign (JG) Khran was transfered to the USS Rettinger.

Khran's fellow crewmates in the Security Department encouraged him to go to the Rettinger's first officer, mayber to her captain and ask again, but Khran choose not to. He respected the chain of command and chose not to go over the Tac/Sec's head. Khran was promoted to Ensign (SG) during his time on the Rettinger.

Khran got his moment to shine later when the USS Rettinger was attacked by a band of criminals who had the goal of kidnapping the Federation Ambassador to [[Angel One]]. The USS Rettinger was disabled and the ship was boarded. Khran lead a group of junior officers and retook several important crew areas, including Main Engineering and Ten Forward (important because of the large amount of captured crewmembers there). However, Khran wasn't promoted or awarded a medal for his actions. Khran however, didn't complain and kept his respect, and refused to tell the FO about his complishments during the hostile takeover.

Finally, when Khran's friends in the Security Divison went to the first officer with good reports of Khran's actions, the Tac/Sec put in a request directly to the CO for his transfer, and it was granted. Khran was transferred off the Rettinger.

However, a criminal group had hijacked another [[Starfleet]] ship called the USS Call of Duty. The USS Call of Duty attacked the USS Pillar of Autumn. Shortly after, the criminals boarded the USS Pillar of Autumn with intent to take control and have two Starfleet vessels under their command. Khran led a small assault force and retook the bridge. He then took the Tactical controls and disabled the USS Call of Duty, leaving the criminals onboard stranded. Shortly after, Khran was able to send a distress message to the Fleet, where it was answered by the USS Wright. The USS Call of Duty was taken to port, while Khran was promoted to Lieutenant (junior grade) and assigned Assistant Tactical/Security.

Mendez was a very lazy child, and didn't really know what to do in his life. He liked problem sloving things, and thought about being a repair engineer for a galactic trading company, but choose to join [[Starfleet]] because he would have access to newer, better and cleaner technology.

Mendez barely passed the entrance exam with the lowest possible passing grade. His Academy record has many accounds of reports of fighting with other students. Also, he harrassed female cadets. I'm 18 yeas old, and currently living in the suburbs outside Milwaukee, Wisconsin. I go to high (secondary) school, and I plan to attend university in the fall, studying Software Engineering. I learned to read at an early age, and haven't really stopped. I like to write, and probably have an overactive imagination. I also have a hell of an ego (just see that embellished player history). Outside of these sort of things, I enjoy watching sport (mainly baseball and auto racing, thought I love all forms), playing video games, flying light aircraft, and other lots of things. I joined the game in 2004 at the age of 14. About six months after I joined, they changed the minimum age to 16, thank goodness for the grandfather clause. I was assigned to Starbase Geneva with my slightly insane counselor, Brian Rogers. In the summer of 2005, I was given my first taste of command, as my character served as Acting Third Officer of Geneva. I thought I was talented, but it turned out that the guy in charge just wanted me to do the compiles and watch the place while he went on a month long holiday to Australia!

Geneva's crew was sent to the Boudicca, and I was stripped from my acting 3O position, which was barely a command position (if at all). The Boudicca and Geneva crews didn't merge well, and my old buds from Geneva were dropping from the game like flies. Going back to just writing a counselor seemed boring after being the A3O, and I fell into a slump and didn't feel like playing the game. During this time, I came across the Wiki here on STF. This was before the current Web 2.0 Wiki craze we have now, and this wiki was wildly under used. I decided to start editing things and making all sorts of new things. I've had my hand in a lot of important projects here on the Wiki, and I'm proud of that.

Thankfully, a sign came from Alan Reading, who asked me to be his First Officer on the USS Spectre. This was in April of 2006, and at age 15, only 20 months of playing the game I had advanced to First Officer, a rather exciting proposition. I had a SPC on most other ships in the fleet, and I was writing like crazy. I taught in the Academy for a short while (seemingly a stop for all command staffers, or wannabe ones.)

However, this is where my Alex Rodriguez-like career took a sharp derailment.

Thanks to my raging teenage hormones, my posts and interest in the Spectre started to drop. In the summer of 2007, Alan had to play 'bad cop' and told me he strongly suggested that I start posting more often. I agreed, but then, in the late fall of '07, I decided that I didn't want to drag Alan and the Spectre down with my low posting numbers, so I resigned from the game. Alan told me that I would lose all my characters, my rank, everything. I was worried, but, at the time, I had no intention to return the game. I deleted my extravagant wiki user page and replaced it with "All Good Things..."

Fast forward to March 2008. Something is digging at me, and I can't explain it. I'm sitting, watching Babylon 5 on DVD, thinking about science-fiction command, rank, orders, all sort of these issues. I started investigating the STF fleet rosters. Seeing who replaced me, who all the CO's were now, how the fleet was doing. But, just dallying around the rosters wasn't enough. I drop a line to Alan Reading. I ask a BIG favor. Even though he had told me previously I was surrendering my previous characters, rank and experience, and would have to start over at the ground level, I asked if I could come back with Rogers, at my previous rank. Alan being Alan, he agreed.

So now, I'm a jaded ex-Command veteran player. I write two characters on the Spectre, one of whom is controversial, with whom I'm perpetually pushing my limits as a rank-and-file player on the Spectre. I find being out of the command staff sort of refreshing. My responsibilities are just to write and have fun, and I don't feel burdened by worrying about trying to advance my STF 'career'. As I told Alan the other day, "I've got nothing left to prove." I still like chatting with Alan about NRPG issues, though he's a lot more tight-lipped since I'm not his FO anymore... ;-)

David Taxia is a Starfleet Officer who is currently the Counselor onboard the [[USS Spectre]].

==History==

===Early Life===

Taxia, like most Betazoids, was born on Betazed. He was born to a well-off family who owned a large estate in the Mountain Region of Betazed. His parents were doctors, and encouraged David to learn everything he could about philsophy.

Has a teenager, David loved to spend his time drinking the Betazed verison of wine and read poems and philsophpical essays by the greatest mind in the galaxy. He orginally wanted to be a doctor, like his parents, but gave it up and became a counselor.

He has a Human great-grandmother, and was named David, after her father, his great-great-grandfather. Because he is 1/8 human, his telepathic powers are weaker than most full Betazoids, but yet, they still exist. Taxia is the first member of his family to leave Betazed (of course, that is omitting his great-grandmother, who was born on Earth, but spend most of her life on Betazed)

===Starfleet Academy===

Taxia had average grades at the Academy, and impressed his classmates with his knowledge of poetry. He loved just laying in the Academy court yard, bare foot, reading poetry and drinking wine, from Chardonnay to Klingon Bloodwine, Taxia had a real taste for the substance. However, this was frowned on by his instructors, and Taxia recevied a few bad marks on his Academy record. Despite this, he graduated with good marks and was given the rank of Ensign (JG).

===First Assignment, USS Wright===

During his time on the USS Wright, Taxia basically functioned as the Counselor's assistant, since the other counselor had a good working relationship with the crew. However, he did his duties well, and was promoted to Ensign (SG). This didn't bring about any change, and Taxia contiuned to be an assistant.

Finally, a small group of the USS Wright's crew was dispersed through out the fleet, and Taxia was sent to the USS Spectre and promoted to Lieutenat (JG).

===Second Assignment, USS Spectre===

Taxia arrived on the [[USS Spectre]] and was again, an assistant under Counselor Lronen. However, following Counselor [[Divon Lronen|Lronen's]] departure from the Spectre, Taxia assumed the role of main counselor. He was first greeted by Dr. [[Andrew Williams]] and [[Will Banowsky]]. He then under took the task of reading all the old counseling logs.

Taxia was later called to a mission where he found that Captain [[Remae Ktell]] had been critically injuried on an dangerous away mission. He agreed to help the crew through this struggle, and helped Dr. Williams break the news to Captain Ramae that he will most likely never walk again with his own feet.

The Spectre shortly after arrived at Starbase 375. Taxia, still a wine enthusiast, ordered a rather large shipment of wine from a Feregni trading post on the Starbase. However, once it was beamed aboard, an overzealous security guard took it away, and tried to capture Taxia for not filing the proper paperwork with [[T'Vhor]]. Taxia was confronted by [[Yelena Vasilyovna]], who accused Taxia of being an acholohic. Taxia defended himself, and later had T'Vhor ok his purchase.

====Mission: The Sword of Damocles====

The Spectre went underway, to recover a [[Rondar Nell|very important person]], who's idenity has of yet has not been revealed to the general crew. En route to meet their contact at Alpha Onias III, they recountered a shuttle, carrying a Vulcan agent, and a traitor to Spectre, [[H'Chir]]. H'Chir had mental problems, possibly stemming from torture. Dr. Williams called Taxia into sickbay to help him return to normal, and possibly discover why he betrayed the Spectre.

Into the session in Sickbay, H'Chir started to panic and collapsed into a coma-like state. Taxia informed Dr. Williams that there was a second mind inside of H'Chir's mind, and went to discover what could cause this.

Soon, the Spectre picked up an important person and started off to pick up the person known has "Zulu One", but the Spectre was assaulted by two black sleek private assault ships. The Spectre was heavily damaged. A Marine boarding party found the men onboard were all ex-Starfleet, almost has if mercanaries hired by someone (probably Doentiz) to stop the Spectre from getting to "Zulu One".

Taxia, feeling the worries of the crew, stormed the bridge and demanded that T'Vhor do something. Lt. Rogers was angry and it looked like Rogers and Taxia might engage in a fist fight, but cooler heads preveiled and Taxia was sent off the bridge.

===Starbase Geneva===

Taxia was reassigned to Starbase Geneva after his tour on the Spectre, pending a new assignment.

Hi! I'm a player here on Star Trek: Freedom. I've played the game for four years. I've had various stints in command, and I'm active on the Wiki here.

I'm 18 yeas old, and currently living in the suburbs outside Milwaukee, Wisconsin. I go to high (secondary) school, and I plan to attend university in the fall, studying Software Engineering. I joined the game in 2004 at the age of 14. About six months after I joined, they changed the minimum age to 16, thank goodness for the grandfather clause. I was assigned to Starbase Geneva with my slightly insane counselor, Brian Rogers. In the summer of 2005, I was given my first taste of command, as my character served as Acting Third Officer of Geneva. I thought I was talented, but it turned out that the guy in charge just wanted me to do the compiles and watch the place while he went on a month long holiday to Australia!

Geneva's crew was sent to the Boudicca, and I was stripped from my acting 3O position, which was barely a command position (if at all). The Boudicca and Geneva crews didn't merge well, and my old buds from Geneva were dropping from the game like flies. ===Pre-Starfleet Life===

Brian Rogers was born on [[Luna]], in Armstrong City in the year 2383, to [[Captain]] Robert Rogers III and [[Lieutenant Commander|Lt. Commander]] Lindsay Rogers ''(nee Bach)''. Mrs. Rogers stayed on Luna with young Brian while Captain Rogers and his older brother and two sisters returned to the [[USS Wilson]] and continued on their mission.

Months later, Brian and his mother rejoined his family onboard the USS Wilson. The Rogers family had an extensive history in Starfleet, almost all of them serving on the bridge of a starship. The eldest male was always named Robert Rogers, and Brian's older brother was in fact, Robert Rogers IV. He was also related to an Admiral James Rogers, who led Starfleet during the Romuluan War.

Brian however, was sickened by all the talk over his pedigree. While his parents often broke the rules about children on the bridge and allowed Brian and his siblings on the bridge, Brian was more fascinated with sickbay, and the ship's medical staff. He saw them has life savers, and a very vital part of the operations of a starship.

When Brian turned 16, he returned to Luna, this time, alone and began studying at the prestigious Luna Academy, a private boarding school that was famous for grooming young captains and command officers in Starfleet. Brian barely passed with a diploma from Luna Academy, and almost flunked out several times.

At age 18, he took the [[Starfleet Academy]] entrance exam, and gained entrance into the school. Although, he angered his parents when he choose a Medical Major, instead of Operations or Tactical, which were more direct paths to a command opportunity.

During his time at the Academy, Brian was a 'big man on campus' has he found young female cadets were impressed by his "famous" family history. However, when the Academy commandant threatened to kick him out of the school for bad grades and many reports of bad behavior and breaking the honor code, he straightened out and stopped his 'wild' ways.

Brian found that a way to focus his energy was in the sport of hockey, where he developed a hard workout regime on himself to keep himself in shape for the cut throat Earth Collegiate Hockey League. He was named team captain of the Starfleet Academy-San Francisco hockey team. He did not want the position just because he was the best player; he wanted another player to have it because that other player was the best leader. Later that year, Brian helped SA:SF win a hockey title against the hockey dynasty, and SA:SF rivals, Starfleet Academy-Toronto.

Brian passed his Medical exam with flying colors and was shipped off to Starbase Geneva with the rank of [[Ensign|Ensign (Junior Grade}]]

===First Assignment, Starbase Geneva===

Brian arrived on board [[Starbase Geneva]] and met with Captain [[Lise Arianna]], who welcomed him aboard. He was ordered to go to a costume party where he first met Dr. [[Kaitlyn Mackenzie]] who he has an infatuation on. He also met his future friend, [[Paul Casely]].

Shortly after Brian arrived on Geneva, an odd planet appeared seemingly out of no where. The station's crew boarded the [[USS Nautilus]] and went to the planet, but found a shield. Back on Geneva, has the engineering crew worked to lower the shield, Brian worked with young engineer, [[Jason Miller]] to create a device to speak with the people, who spoke pre-warp English. Brian then went with Casely and other staff members to the planet, where he aided Casely, and later earned a medal (see below) and a promotion to full [[Ensign]].

However, after the mission, it was revealed to Casely and Dr. Mackenzie that Brian had a serious drug addiction to Cordazine. Under their supervision, they helped Brian overcome this horrible vice. Casely began giving Brian marital arts lessons to clam him, and [[Command Training]] to give his life purpose, and also to groom him for a possible career in command. This is when it is believed that Casely and Rogers became friends, has much has rank would allow.

However, it seems that Brian would need his training, has a few days later, Casely was the target of a [[Humans for Humanity|terrorist]] bombing on Geneva, and Brian, who was acting third officer, was thrust into command of the station. He was advised by Mackenzie, who had prior command experience and by Admiral [[Gr'iann]], a loveable Caitian who was Fleet Second Officer. Brian hoped that it would be an easy time in command, but the USS Montcalm appeared, a ship loyal to [[Admiral Doenitz]] that was seriously damaged and requested help. Brian made his first heavy command decision of his career has he sent engineering and medical teams onboard the USS Montcalm to repair the ship. Brian was worried about sending his friends into the heart of an enemy ship, and sure enough, some members of the Montcalm were planning to take the Geneva members hostage, but Rogers sent of a Marine team to save them. After this, Brian was promoted to [[Lieutenant, junior grade| Lieutenant (Junior Grade)]].

Then, a group of Cardassians arrived who acted odd, and an anti-human terrorist group attacked and Brian and Ensign [[Samantha Chandler]] investigated. Shortly after, war was declared, and the senior staff of Starbase Geneva were sent to the [[USS Boudicca]].

===Second Assignment USS Boudicca===

Disaster struck before they could reach the Boudicca, and the senior crew crashed onboard a planet. It appeared the USS Boudicca has been investigating this planet, and now a large away team was also trapped. Brian worked in the medical center with Dr. [[Mor'rel]], and later in an attack force with his mentor, Commander Casely. Soon, the Boudicca crew was rescued and Brian joined his new ship.

Onboard the ship, Casely (who was promoted to StratOps Officer for the [[Task Force Flagship]] Fleet) organized a holodeck simulation with the old Boudicca crew and the new transfers from Geneva. The simulation was a success and everybody began working together.

The Boudicca began a mission to [[Tau Seti VIId]] in an effort to destory one of [[Admiral Doenitz|Doenitz']] secret projects. Captain [[Caladryll Sevant]] asked Brian to monitor crew morale and any odd behavior by the crew.

Shortly there after, Brian was called to Captain Sevant's office and promoted to full Lieutenant and given sealed orders and sent to take a Type-9 Shuttlecraft to a resupply fleet and wait. After a few touching good byes with Dr. Mackenzie and Commander Casely, Brian left on his shuttle.

===Transit from Boudicca to Spectre===

On his way the Boudicca to a resupply fleet, Rogers was encountered a Intrepid-class ship that was loyal to Doenitz, and who waged attacked Rogers. The ship was heavily damaged, and that allowed Rogers to disable the ship and contiune his way to the resupply fleet.

Rogers met the resupply fleet, at which point, his orders were unsealed. They informed him that he would be the new FO of the [[USS Spectre]], and a set of coordinates along with other information.

He arrived at the coordinates enclosed and waited for over five hours, at which point, the Spectre arrived, and took Lt. Rogers aboard.

===Third Assignment, USS Spectre===

Rogers made his first impression on the Spectre by making casual jokes about the Spectre's latecy in arriving. [[T'Vhor]] scolded him, however it did not seem to effect his opinion on his new First Officer.

Brian quickly adapted to the Spectre, and made friends with the crew. He frequently clashed with Counselor [[David Taxia]], who saw Lt. Rogers as a stiff model officer, and Rogers saw Taxia as a undisciplined rouge.

Brian only served one mission as the Spectre's first officer. He was injuried in a battle and transfered to Starbase Geneva for medical recovery.

===Medical Recovery, Starbase Geneva===

Brian once again found himself in Starbase Geneva, this time, under the care of the full medical staff and contained in a private medical suite, usually only reserved for special life-threatening cases, or patients for whom security is an issue.

Brian's injuries were not that serious, and it was later discovered by Mr. Rogers that this was actually a SFI plot to recruit him into the intelligence services.

===Fourth Assignment, Starfleet Intelligence Field Operations===

During this time, Rogers was trained in the ways of combat, stealth and intelligence on a secret SFI asteroid base, on the nearest edge of the Delta Quadrant. Following his training, he served in numerous SFI field operations. He typically fought against Doenitz' forces, but sometimes in special police actions against Federation citizens. He became changed by these missions, and disenchanted with the entire SFI process. He was quickly shuffled out of the Field Operations divison.

===Fifth Assignment, Back to the USS Spectre===

SFI's brass had Rogers reassigned to his old ship, the USS Spectre. In his first mission back with the Spectre, he got into a disagreement with some members of the senior staff after he proposed spying on Ushar Prime, a Federation world. He later got into a confrontation on Ushar Prime, and was arrested by local police.

His favorite piece of music is "O Fortuna", apart of the "Carmina Burana" collection, by Carl Orff.

Brian Rogers is a Starfleet Officer.

==History==

===Pre-Starfleet Life===

Brian Rogers was born on [[Luna]], in Armstrong City in the year 2383, to [[Captain]] Robert Rogers III and [[Lieutenant Commander|Lt. Commander]] Lindsay Rogers ''(nee Bach)''. Mrs. Rogers stayed on Luna with young Brian while Captain Rogers and his older brother and two sisters returned to the [[USS Wilson]] and continued on their mission.

Months later, Brian and his mother rejoined his family onboard the USS Wilson. The Rogers family had an extensive history in Starfleet, almost all of them serving on the bridge of a starship. The eldest male was always named Robert Rogers, and Brian's older brother was in fact, Robert Rogers IV. He was also related to an Admiral James Rogers, who led Starfleet during the Romuluan War.

Brian however, was sickened by all the talk over his pedigree. While his parents often broke the rules about children on the bridge and allowed Brian and his siblings on the bridge, Brian was more fascinated with sickbay, and the ship's medical staff. He saw them has life savers, and a very vital part of the operations of a starship.

When Brian turned 16, he returned to Luna, this time, alone and began studying at the prestigious Luna Academy, a private boarding school that was famous for grooming young captains and command officers in Starfleet. Brian barely passed with a diploma from Luna Academy, and almost flunked out several times.

=== Starfleet Academy ===

At age 18, he took the [[Starfleet Academy]] entrance exam, and gained entrance into the school. Although, he angered his parents when he choose a Medical Major, instead of Operations or Tactical, which were more direct paths to a command opportunity.

During his time at the Academy, Brian was a 'big man on campus' has he found young female cadets were impressed by his "famous" family history. However, when the Academy commandant threatened to kick him out of the school for bad grades and many reports of bad behavior and breaking the honor code, he straightened out and stopped his 'wild' ways.

Brian found that a way to focus his energy was in the sport of hockey, where he developed a hard workout regime on himself to keep himself in shape for the cut throat Earth Collegiate Hockey League. He was named team captain of the Starfleet Academy-San Francisco hockey team. He did not want the position just because he was the best player; he wanted another player to have it because that other player was the best leader. Later that year, Brian helped SA:SF win a hockey title against the hockey dynasty, and SA:SF rivals, Starfleet Academy-Toronto.

Brian passed his Medical exam with flying colors and was shipped off to Starbase Geneva with the rank of [[Ensign|Ensign (Junior Grade}]]

===First Assignment, Starbase Geneva===

Brian arrived on board [[Starbase Geneva]] and met with Captain [[Lise Arianna]], who welcomed him aboard. He was ordered to go to a costume party where he first met Dr. [[Kaitlyn Mackenzie]] who he has an infatuation on. He also met his future friend, [[Paul Casely]].

Shortly after Brian arrived on Geneva, an odd planet appeared seemingly out of no where. The station's crew boarded the [[USS Nautilus]] and went to the planet, but found a shield. Back on Geneva, has the engineering crew worked to lower the shield, Brian worked with young engineer, [[Jason Miller]] to create a device to speak with the people, who spoke pre-warp English. Brian then went with Casely and other staff members to the planet, where he aided Casely, and later earned a medal (see below) and a promotion to full [[Ensign]].

However, after the mission, it was revealed to Casely and Dr. Mackenzie that Brian had a serious drug addiction to Cordazine. Under their supervision, they helped Brian overcome this horrible vice. Casely began giving Brian marital arts lessons to clam him, and [[Command Training]] to give his life purpose, and also to groom him for a possible career in command. This is when it is believed that Casely and Rogers became friends, has much has rank would allow.

However, it seems that Brian would need his training, has a few days later, Casely was the target of a [[Humans for Humanity|terrorist]] bombing on Geneva, and Brian, who was acting third officer, was thrust into command of the station. He was advised by Mackenzie, who had prior command experience and by Admiral [[Gr'iann]], a loveable Caitian who was Fleet Second Officer. Brian hoped that it would be an easy time in command, but the USS Montcalm appeared, a ship loyal to [[Admiral Doenitz]] that was seriously damaged and requested help. Brian made his first heavy command decision of his career has he sent engineering and medical teams onboard the USS Montcalm to repair the ship. Brian was worried about sending his friends into the heart of an enemy ship, and sure enough, some members of the Montcalm were planning to take the Geneva members hostage, but Rogers sent of a Marine team to save them. After this, Brian was promoted to [[Lieutenant, junior grade| Lieutenant (Junior Grade)]].

Then, a group of Cardassians arrived who acted odd, and an anti-human terrorist group attacked and Brian and Ensign [[Samantha Chandler]] investigated. Shortly after, war was declared, and the senior staff of Starbase Geneva were sent to the [[USS Boudicca]].

===Second Assignment USS Boudicca===

Disaster struck before they could reach the Boudicca, and the senior crew crashed onboard a planet. It appeared the USS Boudicca has been investigating this planet, and now a large away team was also trapped. Brian worked in the medical center with Dr. [[Mor'rel]], and later in an attack force with his mentor, Commander Casely. Soon, the Boudicca crew was rescued and Brian joined his new ship.

Onboard the ship, Casely (who was promoted to StratOps Officer for the [[Task Force Flagship]] Fleet) organized a holodeck simulation with the old Boudicca crew and the new transfers from Geneva. The simulation was a success and everybody began working together.

The Boudicca began a mission to [[Tau Seti VIId]] in an effort to destory one of [[Admiral Doenitz|Doenitz']] secret projects. Captain [[Caladryll Sevant]] asked Brian to monitor crew morale and any odd behavior by the crew.

Shortly there after, Brian was called to Captain Sevant's office and promoted to full Lieutenant and given sealed orders and sent to take a Type-9 Shuttlecraft to a resupply fleet and wait. After a few touching good byes with Dr. Mackenzie and Commander Casely, Brian left on his shuttle.

===Transit from Boudicca to Spectre===

On his way the Boudicca to a resupply fleet, Rogers was encountered a Intrepid-class ship that was loyal to Doenitz, and who waged attacked Rogers. The ship was heavily damaged, and that allowed Rogers to disable the ship and contiune his way to the resupply fleet.

Rogers met the resupply fleet, at which point, his orders were unsealed. They informed him that he would be the new FO of the [[USS Spectre]], and a set of coordinates along with other information.

He arrived at the coordinates enclosed and waited for over five hours, at which point, the Spectre arrived, and took Lt. Rogers aboard.

===Third Assignment, USS Spectre===

Rogers made his first impression on the Spectre by making casual jokes about the Spectre's latecy in arriving. [[T'Vhor]] scolded him, however it did not seem to effect his opinion on his new First Officer.

Brian quickly adapted to the Spectre, and made friends with the crew. He frequently clashed with Counselor [[David Taxia]], who saw Lt. Rogers as a stiff model officer, and Rogers saw Taxia as a undisciplined rouge.

Brian only served one mission as the Spectre's first officer. He was injuried in a battle and transfered to Starbase Geneva for medical recovery.

===Medical Recovery, Starbase Geneva===

Brian once again found himself in Starbase Geneva, this time, under the care of the full medical staff and contained in a private medical suite, usually only reserved for special life-threatening cases, or patients for whom security is an issue.

Brian's injuries were not that serious, and it was later discovered by Mr. Rogers that this was actually a SFI plot to recruit him into the intelligence services.

===Fourth Assignment, Starfleet Intelligence Field Operations===

During this time, Rogers was trained in the ways of combat, stealth and intelligence on a secret SFI asteroid base, on the nearest edge of the Delta Quadrant. Following his training, he served in numerous SFI field operations. He typically fought against Doenitz' forces, but sometimes in special police actions against Federation citizens. He became changed by these missions, and disenchanted with the entire SFI process. He was quickly shuffled out of the Field Operations divison.

===Fifth Assignment, Back to the USS Spectre===

SFI's brass had Rogers reassigned to his old ship, the USS Spectre. He is currently en route via a shuttlecraft.

Hi! I'm a player here on Star Trek: Freedom. I've played the game for four years. I've had various stints in command, and I'm active on the Wiki here.

I'm 18 yeas old, and currently living in the suburbs outside Milwaukee, Wisconsin. I go to high (secondary) school, and I plan to attend university in the fall, studying Software Engineering. I learned to read at an early age, and haven't really stopped. I like to write, and probably have an overactive imagination. I also have a hell of an ego (just see that embellished player history). Outside of these sort of things, I enjoy watching sport (mainly baseball and auto racing, thought I love all forms), playing video games, flying light aircraft, and other lots of things. My favorite television show is The Prisoner. My favorite movie is Children of Men. My favorite book is Atlas Shrugged. Politically, I lean right-of-center.

I joined the game in 2004 at the age of 14. About six months after I joined, they changed the minimum age to 16, thank goodness for the grandfather clause. I was assigned to Starbase Geneva with my slightly insane counselor, Brian Rogers. In the summer of 2005, I was given my first taste of command, as my character served as Acting Third Officer of Geneva. I thought I was talented, but it turned out that the guy in charge just wanted me to do the compiles and watch the place while he went on a month long holiday to Australia!

Geneva's crew was sent to the Boudicca, and I was stripped from my acting 3O position, which was barely a command position (if at all). The Boudicca and Geneva crews didn't merge well, and my old buds from Geneva were dropping from the game like flies. Going back to just writing a counselor seemed boring after being the A3O, and I fell into a slump and didn't feel like playing the game. During this time, I came across the Wiki here on STF. This was before the current Web 2.0 Wiki craze we have now, and this wiki was wildly under used. I decided to start editing things and making all sorts of new things. I've had my hand in a lot of important projects here on the Wiki, and I'm proud of that.

Thankfully, a sign came from Alan Reading, who asked me to be his First Officer on the USS Spectre. This was in April of 2006, and at age 15, only 20 months of playing the game I had advanced to First Officer, a rather exciting proposition. I had a SPC on most other ships in the fleet, and I was writing like crazy. I taught in the Academy for a short while (seemingly a stop for all command staffers, or wannabe ones.)

However, this is where my Alex Rodriguez-like career took a sharp derailment.

Thanks to my raging teenage hormones, my posts and interest in the Spectre started to drop. In the summer of 2007, Alan had to play 'bad cop' and told me he strongly suggested that I start posting more often. I agreed, but then, in the late fall of '07, I decided that I didn't want to drag Alan and the Spectre down with my low posting numbers, so I resigned from the game. Alan told me that I would lose all my characters, my rank, everything. I was worried, but, at the time, I had no intention to return the game. I deleted my extravagant wiki user page and replaced it with "All Good Things..."

Fast forward to March 2008. Something is digging at me, and I can't explain it. I'm sitting, watching Babylon 5 on DVD, thinking about science-fiction command, rank, orders, all sort of these issues. I started investigating the STF fleet rosters. Seeing who replaced me, who all the CO's were now, how the fleet was doing. But, just dallying around the rosters wasn't enough. I drop a line to Alan Reading. I ask a BIG favor. Even though he had told me previously I was surrendering my previous characters, rank and experience, and would have to start over at the ground level, I asked if I could come back with Rogers, at my previous rank. Alan being Alan, he agreed.

So now, I'm a jaded ex-Command veteran player. I write two characters on the Spectre, one of whom is controversial, with whom I'm perpetually pushing my limits as a rank-and-file player on the Spectre. I find being out of the command staff sort of refreshing. My responsibilities are just to write and have fun, and I don't feel burdened by worrying about trying to advance my STF 'career'. As I told Alan the other day, "I've got nothing left to prove." I still like chatting with Alan about NRPG issues, though he's a lot more tight-lipped since I'm not his FO anymore... ;-)
