==Background:== Unlike many of her peers, she was not born from rape or by her mother being a forced concubine. Her parents loved each other and her father (who was a doctor), remained on Bajor after the Cardassian forces were defeated to stay with her mother, whom he didn't think would be accepted on Cardassia. He eventually converted to the Bajoran religion and both Ranae and Zarak were raised to believe in the Celestial Temple and the Prophets and they bear their names in the Bajoran tradition. Eventually the couple decided to have children, first Ranae was born and then 2 years later, her younger brother, Zarak. Her mother's name is Ammon Druya and her father's name is Ammon Ranek. Her family home is in Kendra Province. Despite open hostility towards her parents and eventually towards herself and Zarak, her parents chose to remain on Bajor and weather the storm of bigotry and hatred with a patience and tolerance that Ranae (while growing up), found rather bewildering. She found herself in many fights during her early school years to defend both herself and her brother, until her peers learned to leave them alone. Zarak is also in Starfleet as a Science Officer aboard an exploration vessel. He is married to a human whose name is Sylvia, whom he met while in the Academy. They have a son born 2407.05.08 named Zeal. ===Education:=== Starfleet Academy. Attended the usual schooling available to Bajoran children and went to University where she studied to become a doctor, then decided to leave and join Starfleet ===Pre Starfleet:=== During childhood the siblings only had each other as companions, they grew very close and protective of each other as they were outcasts to their peers, which is why Ranae decided to apply to join Starfleet, where tolerance and acceptance was pre-eminent, despite starting medical studies on Bajor. ===Starfleet:=== Promoted to Ensign Senior Grade on 2407.03.10 Promoted to Lieutenant Junior Grade on 2407.03.26 and received two formal commendations for the efficient execution of her duties during the battle of Beta Seranis. Promoted to Lieutenant Senior Grade on 2407.07.03 and re-assigned as Tactical Chief. ===Medical:=== Ranae has led a healthy, disease free life, but did break her left leg when she fell from a rock face while vacationing in the Undahar Cliffs at age 13. When she is fatigued she limps slightly. ===Hobbies:=== Baseball, also see Skills and Abilities ===Skills:=== Ranae is a talented sculptor and painter, she also learned acrobatics and enjoys swimming and long-distance running. She has a fine singing voice and loves music from all races and time frames. She spends many hours in the holodecks refining her skills with special programs she designed for herself. ===Other:=== Although she still experiences some resentment and bigotry occasionally, on the whole she is content and usually turns the other cheek. Her brother Ammon Zarak also joined starfleet and is a a scientist aboard an explorer vessel, specializing in quantum physics. He is married to a human woman he met in the academy, Sylvia, and they have a son named Zeal. She is presently romantically involved with CSEC [[Baylon Trinin]]. [[Category: Characters]]
