== Mars Base - An Overview == Admiral Remae Ktell has been assigned to command the newly reinvented Mars Defense Perimeter (MDP). The Federation has decided to rebuild from the inside out, starting by protecting its core assets in the Sol System. The Admiral is tasked with not only overseeing the combined station but building a team to restore Starfleet's presence in the Alpha Quadrant. The new team must investigate the status of the fleet, outposts, and allies of the Federation, determining who remains a friend and who has become an adversary. With the loss of Andorian (and other worlds') knowledge and assistance, Starfleet must access the remains of its primary defense, scientific, construction, and research capabilities. The Mars Station that formerly housed the Mars Defense Perimeter will become the first in the effort to reconstruct Starfleet's ability to not only defend Earth but to also go back out into the stars after a period of contraction.
