==Family and Background==

Vex was considered too young by her parents to be throwing her life away by joining the StarFleet Academy, they tried to convince her otherwise but her steadfast resolve meant that once she had made her mind up there was no stopping her. She had come into her telepathic abilities around the age of 11 1/2 and began training immediately under private tutelage that her parents purchased. Vex prefers the quiet and coldness that machines bring, which is what lead her fascination from an early age in the subject of of Mechanical Engineering.

Vex's family moved to Earth when she was fairly young due to the family business being set up and moved. She was sent to a private school at the age of 11/12, specifically for Betazed children.
