== Pre-Starfleet History==
 
Early in her life, Imka showed a high intelligence and greater development for her age, especially higher math and musical patterns. This led her learning to play the Ferengi flute. She was active and inquisitive, always wanting to know and understand how and why things worked the way they did. She enjoyed studying nature, but her true love was the night sky. This was enhanced when her parents bought her a telescope when she was ten.

At age twelve, Imka began a serious effort to earn profit. Studying the stock and commodities markets, she created her own formula for predicting their trends. As she gained experience, she perfected the formula, which allowed her to make predictions at a 70% success rate. By age twenty-five, she had accumulated enough profit to be comfortable the rest of her life. This led her to be the target of numerous men wanting to marry her. Sensing this was more to gain access to her formula rather than love and family, she declined all suiters.

Being so successful at gaining profit, Imka started feeling bored. She turned more attention to her science studies, but soon found she needed new challenges. Feeling those would come away from her home world, in a wild and unusual decision that shocked her family, at age twenty-six, Imka travelled to Earth where she applied to Starfleet Academy. She passed the entrance exam and background check and soon after became a citizen of the Federation.
