==Types of phaser weapons==

There are several numbered types of phasers of increasing size and capability: Types 1, 2, and 3 are personnel phasers, and types 4 and above are ship-mounted weapons.

*[[Type I Phaser]] is a small sidearm weapon.
*[[Type II Phaser]] is a larger sidearm-type weapon. A sleeker and more compact version was introduced in 2368.
*[[Type III Phaser]] is a rifle-sized weapon.
*[[Type III-C Phaser]] is a reinforced version of the Type III Phaser Rifle. It has an integrated Tactical [[Tricorder]] and a reinforced frame. It is primarily used by the [[Starfleet Marines]].
