== Starfleet History ==
Josh joined the Marines at the age of 18 with the intention of becoming a pilot as his father had been (Non Starfleet). On completion of his training, he was assigned the rank of Lieutenant Major. He was considered to be an up and coming instructor within the marines when he made the decision to resign from teaching to do what he loved to do, fly combat missions.

Flying many covert ops, he quickly gained the call sign of “Angel”, partly due to his looks and partly due to his ability to pilot his dropship through some of the roughest conditions and pick up his team. 

During what would turn out to be his final mission with the marines, his dropship was shot down and he sustained heavy injuries to his left arm, shoulder, collarbone and leg. As a result, he was sent back to earth to recover. Doctors managed to save the vast majority of his left side but he has been left with a burn over his left hip and has had his left arm and shoulder rebuilt.

He wanted to fly but was still dealing with the memories of his last mission and knew that his path no longer lay with the marines and decided to transfer to Starleet directly and became a Conn Officer.
