Commander by Captain Devan Sash and transfered from the [[USS Nimitz]] to the [[USS Dennison]] on Stardate 2407.07.04 and assigned as its new First Officer. On Stardate 2407.07.07 McDermott was assigned as the Dennison's [[Strategic Operations Officer]] in addition to his First Officer duties. On Stardate 2408.01.08 McDermott was promoted to Commander. On Stardate 2407.07.10 McDermott was Awarded the Squadron Commanders Commendation for outstanding participation in the battle against Doenitz forces during the Civil War. On Stardate 2407.08.07 McDermott was awarded the Ribbon of Sacrifice for bravery, valiance and self-sacrifice, despite serious injury, for the good of the Federation during the battle with the USS Caesar Regnum in the final battle of the Doenitz Civil war. On Stardate 2407.09.01 McDermott was awarded the Medal of Merit for service to the 52nd Fleet, above and beyond the call of duty.
