Colony Alpha V (also called Colony 5 or Earth colony 5) is a Federation colony on the planet Alpha V in the Alpha system. It was home to the closest living relatives of orphan Charles Evans when he was found in 2266. Charlie very much wanted to make a home on Colony 5, however, the dangerous nature of his powers made James Kirk of the USS Enterprise take measures that Charlie not go there, out of concern for that worlds innocent inhabitants. In the end, only the Thasians, Charlie's adoptive caretakers, could keep the powerful boy from completing that journey. (TOS: "Charlie X") It is not clear whether Alpha V was a planet the colony was on, or the name of the colony itself. In addition, the Alpha system could possibly refer to any number of solar systems with "alpha" in their designations. :'''''The planetoid [[Alpha 441]] might also be located in or near this system. This would place it in or near the Badlands. ''''' [[Category: Planets]]
