Editing Imperial Daystrom Institute

In the [[Mirror Universe]] the [[Imperial Daystrom Institute]], also known as the Imperial Daystrom Research Institute, was a 24th century organization that contributed to the [[Terran Empire]]. It was named after Doctor Richard Daystrom, inventor of the duotronic computer. 

The Institute although originally established to promote research, quickly transformed itself into a facility focused on the development of Military technologies. Among those working here was Noonian Soong, the developer of the [[Positronic Net]].

The Institute was stripped of it's ability to conduct Military Technology research by [[Spock]] when he created the [[Terran Republic]].

It's halls were plundered by the [[Klingon-Cardassian Alliance]] after they annexed the republic.

Some members of the Institute made their way to [[Memory Omega]] in order to continue their research unimpeded by the KCA.

With the Reformation of the [[Terran Empire]] The Institute once again began military research operations. They also began the formation of their own Military fleet. The [[ISS Soong]] was a [[Prometheus Class]] ship assigned to the instutite in 2400.

With the uprising of another [[Terran Rebellion]] in 2404 against the newly reformed Terran Empire and the KCA, the Institute chose to align itself and it's fleet with the rebellion led by Rodrigo Doenitz.

In 2406, the Institute developed an Interdimensional [[Transporter]] that allowed [[Zachary Falthgood]] to travel to the Prime universe and begin stealing technology from the [[United Federation of Planets]]. Among the things he managed to steal were the plans for the [[USS Rosenante]].

The Imperial Institute was instrumental in subjugating the [[Bynars]], when they ordered the [[ISS Soong]] to attack [[Bynaus]] in 2407. [[Rank|Ensign]] [[Robert Smith]] was stationed aboard that ship. During the Assault he was seriosuly injured. Doctor Soong of the institute installed several untested cybernetic Implants in the Ensign Including a [[Positronic Net]], both arms and legs and a high capacity data storage device. Later Smith would serve on as Assistant Chief of operations aboard the [[ISS Rosenante]].

The Fleet for the institute was placed under the complete jurisidction of the [[Imperial Starfleet]] in 2407.
