The USS Archimedes was a Federation Starship of the Archimedes class. The vessel was the only ship of her class and the design was abandoned when the ship went missing with all hands on Stardate 2386.02.08. The Archimedes was designed as a test bed for new propulsion systems and weapons systems, some of which would later be implemented in the Sovereign Class starship. Ahmed Ibn Salid was housed aboard this vessel while his father was assigned here. It was not long after the Salid family departed this ship that the vessel went missing. All Starfleet efforts to locate her have failed and the vessel was eventually classified as lost with all hands. As a result of several design flaws the Archimedes project was scrapped, making the USS Archimedes the only ship of this class to ever see service in starfleet, although she never advanced beyond her initial NX classification.
