The [[USS Pravda]] is a [[Federation]] [[starship]] of the [[Sovereign Class]]. This vessel is commanded by [[Rank|Captain]] Doyle Allan Ripley, father of Counselor [[Anamitra Ripley]] serving aboard the [[USS Hades]]. The ship has a long and illustrious career, beginning with several diplomatic meetings and a treaty signing with the [[Skorr|Skorr Hierarchy]] in early 2397. The vessel then went on to conduct military operations during the [[Cardassian]] - [[Federation]] war, and was part of the recovery fleet sent to assist Bajor in rebuilding after the conflicts there.

In 2405, the Pravda was responsible for the diplomatic solution to a potential brewing conflict between the [[Breen]] and the [[Romulan Star Empire]] which threatened to involve the [[United Federation of Planets]]. 

In 2406, fearing retribution by the newly installed [[Admiral Doenitz|Doentiz Regime]] Captain Ripley remained with Starfleet, although he selectively and cautiously sent detailed intelligence to the [[52nd Fleet]] which was helpful for planning the final conflict at [[Sector 001]].

In 2407, this Starship was assigned to the 1st Defense Fleet which in turn participated in the [[Sector 001|Battle of Sector 001]]. Although the ship began the conflict as a vessel loyal to [[Admiral Doenitz]] The ship's captain managed to overcome those loyalists on-board and joined the [[52nd Fleet]]. As a result of this the vessel was very badly damaged. Over three-quarters of the ship's crew was killed. Captain Ripley managed to survive the battle, and the subsequent investigation. The ship was salvaged and repaired.

Currently the Pravda is assigned to conduct scientific Surveys of space near [[Starbase Geneva]].
