The [[Banok Empire]] is a political and geographical area located on the [[planet]] [[Irlix]].

The Empireis located on the smallest continent of the planet and dominates half of that land mass as well as some territory adjacent to the [[Nuveric Republic]]. The Confederation is home to roughly 70 million inhabitants and is the smallest major government on the planet.

In 2393, when the [[USS Medea]] Crashed in the territory controlled by the [[Gab Union]], the Empire fearing the advanced technology that might be held solely by their neighbor requested that they be granted access to the wreckage alongside Gab Union scientists. When they were turned down, they joined a coalition of nations to assert their right to study the wreckage on equal footing.

Because of the extreme cultural damage done by Nakamura, Captain Salid, with the support of the [[Federation Diplomatic Corps]] aided the Irlixians in establishing a provisional world government headed by [[Ios Malinae]] who aided the Rosenante crew during their rescue operation. The Empire was a signatory of the provisional government.
