==Family and Background==

Demora met [[Victor Stanton]] while in college and after a four year on again off again courtship married him at her family’s insistence. Initially Demora found Victor to be fascinating, cultured and an intelligent young man. Unfortunately as time went on and she learned more about him her life became one of a barely tolerable imprisonment.

In the early years of her marriage she nearly left him twice and only her becoming pregnant prevented a divorce. After her daughter [[Leesa N. Stanton]] was born she was forced to remain in the unhappy marriage to try and protect her daughter.

After years of marriage in which she did everything she could to protect Leesa, Demora left Victor after he attempted to trick Leesa into leaving Starfleet by informing her that Demora was on her deathbed.

After saving her daughter yet again from Victor’s domination, Demora transferred as many credits to her personal accounts from her husband’s assets as she could and then she left Terra for the Beta Quadrant. With her she took over a dozen ships from Victor’s merchant fleet including her flagship, an old Miranda Class starship converted to hauling cargo which she rechristened the [[USS Aphrodite]].
