<p><font size="4">The Field BDU is resilient, low weight perfect for light <br />
combat, and situations where a fully armored Marine <br />
may not be diplomatically ideal. It improves on the <br />
SDU's Physical protections, and provides environmental, <br />
and high energy protection. It can take up to a single <br />
Level 10 hit before the CADM degrades.<br><br />
<br><br />
It's light weight and ease of use allows operation <br />
with less regular drilling than the Heavy BDU does. <br />
Further, the Field BDU has a greater range of aesthetic <br />
options. While reinforced areas and trauma plating <br />
will be more obvious, the Field BDU can adhere quite <br />
closely to standard Uniform appearance. Generally, <br />
Marine variants often include extra pockets, hard <br />
points to attach gear, and so forth. <br><br />

The Field BDU integrates the Pallas Helmet and it's <br />
capabilities ( see below) and can provide an atmospheric <br />
seal for half an hour. allowing for short term outer <br />
space and aquatic operation. Otherwise, it is capable <br />
of providing comfort and protection in most environmental <br />
conditions within Class M parameters.<br><br />

Addition of Environmental Suit elements can allow <br />
it the prolonged operational duration of a standard <br />
Starfleet Environmental suit. <br><br />

The Field BDU was made available to Tactical Development <br />
in early 2404, and the upgrades have been as well.</font></p><br />
