Let's talk about redirects

New page

Hmm I think we should avoid creating many pages with simillar titles (serving as redirect pages) as the search mechanism of this wiki is quite good and if you will input "ensign (junior grade)" into the search box - the first site that will jump out is the correct "Ensign Junior Grade".

Hence, I would call a vote for deleting this page.

Now, redirect pages are quite a powerful tool and one can use them quite effectively. For example this very page. Although a redirect page "ensign (junior grade)" makes the searchbox (which prioritizes page titles) kind of obsolete, however "ensign jg" is another thing. It does not repeat all the words from the original page's title (just adding several signs that the searchbox will filter out anyway) but adds a phrase "jg" which may be input by a reader and may produce different results if propper redirect page is not created.

Let's hear your opinions on this.
