Dacoral is the capitol planet of a region of space in the gamma quadrant known as the Dacoralian Star Empire. It has recently been involved in a major civil war. Dacoral started off with one intelligent race, the Moriats. After they had begun exploration of nearby system, they ran across a militant race, the Tarmack, or hur'q in Klingon. The Tarmack enslaved the Moriat, and brought two other species to the planet of Dacoral, the Seskal, and the Dacoral, after whom the planet was renamed. The Moriat and Seskal were used as slave labour, and were genetically experimented on. The Seskal started as Centaurian Insectoids, but were manipulated into humanoid and avian variants. The Moriat, already humanoid, were manipulated into aquatic, and massive forms. These experiments yielded slaves ready for many different enviornments.

The planet Dacoral, capitol of the Dacoralian Star Empire in the gamma quadrant

The Dacoral are a bit of a mystery. They were large, sentient, extremely powerful dragon-like creatures with the ability to project themselves as different creatures. After the planet had been enslaved for about seven hundred years, the Dacoral led an uprising against the Tarmack. The Rebellion, as it became known, lasted for three hundred bloody years and involved most of Tarmack space. By the end of the Rebellion, the Tarmack were completely destroyed, and the Dacoral were all but extinct in their space. Most of the Dacoral left, but one stayed behind to serve as the Emperor of the newly formed Dacoralian Star Empire. That last member of the Dacoral who has remained on the planet for two hundred years is still the Emperor of the Dacoralian Star Empire, Semaj K'cod (pronounced Kay Sod).
