| Remae has spent most of his career to date on the USS Spectre, as [[Counsellor]]. His counselling sessions have always gone well and he believes in the choices he has made in counselling others. Moving up to COUNS/2O and then [[First Officer]], Remae was given command of the [[USS Spectre]] when the former Captain, was involved in an incident in which a Romulan Warbird was stolen. The USS Spectre was Remae’s ship for a short while, and in a mission to [[Cardassia]], she was nearly destroyed, was separated in half and the saucer was towed back to [[Starbase 968]]. The details are still locked by [[Starfleet Intelligence]]; Remae was never told of Starfleet’s official response to the loss of the USS Spectre. Unofficially, [[Admiral Kriller]] has told Ktell that the Spectre will be rebuild and launched, but Starfleet are concerned about the near destruction of her. Remae was in command of the [[Prometheus Class]] [[USS Athene]], and in her maiden voyage, he is on a mission into the [[Gamma Quadrant]]. His rapid rise to Captain has not gone to his head and he listens to others before choosing his path. After a brief spell on the [[USS Nimitz]], he was placed around the fleet while waiting for the trial for the loss of the original Spectre. He was then assigned to Utopia Planitia under the command of the [[USS Firebrande]] but the ship and the command was wasn’t a real command but he tolerated it while he waited for his time to come again. Thanks for a strange set of events, and a duplicate Spectre from another timeline, he was assigned to her once more, a ship he knows inside and out. Since then, more events have caused the Spectre to be pushed out of her own timeline and into another, one that the Dominion War he remembers so well, never happened. The Spectre was assigned to the [[52nd Fleet]] and is currently engaged in a mission to restore the [[Federation]] to the state it was before this Civil War started.

| There are a few Remae's around, 4, if I am correct in the current timeline, although 1 of the 4 is back in time/space on [[Utopia Planitia]], in 2404 (Alt Timeline), a Remae was moved to the current timeline of Freedom, and I am not sure if the same one is back there again, I think so.

The Setting[edit]
The Federation has lost its way and become vulnerable to hostile forces. Several member worlds have left, creating a dark and unpredictable time.
Admiral Remae Ktell is assigned to run the newly reinvented Mars Defense Perimeter (MDP). The Federation has decided to rebuild from the inside out, starting with its core assets in the Sol System. Andor has withdrawn, taking its technology, including heavily weaponized systems, with it.
The Admiral is tasked with overseeing the combined station and building a team to restore Starfleet's presence in the Alpha Quadrant. This new team must investigate the status of the fleet, outposts, and Federation allies, determining who remains a friend and who has become an adversary.
The 52nd Fleet[edit]
Star Trek : Freedom chronicles the adventures of the 52nd Fleet, a Federation task force operating during a time of internal crisis. After the Federation civil war ended in 2408, Starfleet adopted a defensive posture that led to contraction and the disbanding of most fleets, including the 52nd Fleet in 2431. For a complete history of these events, see our Timeline.
Following "The Incident" in 2443, when Earth was attacked and millions were killed, President Stiave Atremi was elected and tasked Admiral Remae Ktell with rebuilding Starfleet. The 52nd Fleet was reformed, beginning operations from the Mars Defense Perimeter in 2444. Learn more about the rebuilding efforts in our Flashback section.
The fleet faced the growing threat of the rogue Admiral Doenitz and his faction of breakaway Starfleet forces. After a brutal conflict, Admiral Doenitz was defeated, and the Federation began to rebuild in earnest.

Star Trek : Freedom is a free, long-running Star Trek role-playing game that began as a traditional PBeM with a close-knit membership. Since 1997, we have grown into a broader community-driven Star Trek project, supporting banner exchanges, links, forums, top lists, and now a fully restored and expanding wiki archive.
Our game is set in the year 2446. Two years ago, we revamped the game, originally founded in 1997, to align with the current canon timeline. This includes the destruction of Romulus and the concept of a contracting Federation, aligning with events depicted in modern Star Trek series.
Although we love playing in the timeline of The Next Generation, Deep Space Nine, and Voyager, those shows are decades old and we've explored them extensively. We're refreshing our game to appeal to both a new generation of players and longtime fans.
