| The sector of space that the 52nd fleet now inhabits is one filled with mysteries and danger. Every part of the 52nd fleet has been moved even further out by way of the [[Subspace River]], to an area of space first defined and noticed by Starfleet Explorers because of a [[Subspace River]] Terminus that forms there, a mystery alone that calls for explanation. The area of space itself is rugged, unknown and inviting. There is evidence of several peoples previously un-encountered, of resources in plenty and mysteries in the deep of space just crying out to be explored.

| Many systems have been probed already and some have shown interesting preliminary results. There is a system at the heart of this sector that has shown power and other industrial indicators although no starships have been able to get to this system thanks to some kind of protection or barrier around it.
| | HAZ-SUP Flotilla is the Hazardous Support Flotilla of the 6th Tactical Fleet. The HAZ-SUP Flotilla vessels are an auxiliary unit of the 6th Tactical Fleet. The vessels are used for missions that are inherently dangerous for ships and its crews. The vessels petrol singly or in pairs and react to any Hazardous mission which falls into their remit. Their mission parameters are wide and varied from long range tactical and hazardous exploration as well as diplomatic and salvage missions. The ships and crew of the Hazardous Support Flotilla have a higher rate of losses then other part of the 6th Tactical Fleet due to the dangerous missions they are sent on. |

| After learning of a secret plot within the very Admiralty of Starfleet to take over the [[Federation]] and remake it after their image, [[Robert LoDona]] vowed that he would fight to the end in order to save [[Starfleet]], the Federation and the philosophies which had defined their way of life for centuries. He ordered his fleet; the 52nd Exploratory, to a new position deep in the [[Beta Quadrant]] at a Terminus of the [[Subspace River]] and declared open hostilities against certain Admirals in Starfleet and their ideals.

| He did not make the hostilities known to the Federation-at-large, the specter of full scale Civil War was disheartening at best, and he deemed it prudent to save the Federation and her member-worlds the strife as long as Starfleet could handle the matter internally. However, he prepared contingency plans should the Federation learn of the conflict and be plunged into Civil War.

| The future is not yet known, the 52nd fleet has much to do, and few resources to use. The area of space to which Admiral LoDona relocated is almost completely unknown, and must be fully explored and secured as their base of operations. The subspace river has a termination point there, reason unknown. And there is plenty of evidence suggesting that there are several highly evolved races of aliens in the local area.

| Then, there is the issue of the coming quasi-war with various elements of Starfleet. Large Fleet actions are unlikely, only one ship at a time can exit the subspace river, making defense of it simple. Any fleet traveling the four month journey at high-warp would be seen by sensor outposts, debasing the element of surprise. Robert refuses to make this a larger public issue, and it was deemed highly unlikely that Admiral Doenitz and his cadre would choose to publicly discredit LoDona and his Captains as Traitors, as such public scrutiny would have the effect of casting the Admiralties philosophy and actions into the lime-light as well as casting the Federation itself into Civil War.

| It is the opinion of many that Civil War must be avoided at all manageable costs.

| These are dark times, unpredictable times. There are new areas of space to explore and a quasi-civil war to fight with elements of their very own forces. This is the first of many battlegrounds for the future of the Federation. Only the willful will succeed, only the strong will survive.
