Ganymede is the third Galilean moon of Jupiter, fifth planet in the Sol system. It is the largest moon in the system and is named after the cup-bearer of the Greek gods in Terran mythology.
In the 23rd century, Montgomery Scott of the Federation starship USS Enterprise mentioned a mysterious "green drink" he found on Ganymede, and later shared with the Kelvan Tomar. (TOS: "By Any Other Name")
