Family and Background

K'ran was born from what her grandfather and the majority of her family feels is shameful. K'ran's mother got drunk and ended up in bed with a male Betazoid. When the pair had awoke the next day her mother was horrified at what she'd done. When her mother figured out that she was pregnant from the Betazoid, her mother went to her brother to explain what had happen. He was shocked at her admission of being pregnant from a Betazoid male but supported her when she went before her father to admit what she'd done. K'ran's grandfather had been shocked and greatly disappointed that his daughter had mated with a male other than Klingon. Once K'ran had been born looking fully Klingon, the patriarch of the family accepted K'ran but never really showed he had any love for her. K'ran grew up with her uncle to train her and desperate to prove to her grandfather that she was worthy to be a Klingon warrior. Nothing she did could please her grandfather though she's earned the love and respect of the uncle who had trained her. At the time for the rite of passage, K'ran's grandfather refused to go to the ceremony stating that K'ran could never be a 'true' Klingon warrior being of mixed blood. Hurt by this, K'ran left the Klingon home world and wandered around for a couple of years before joining StarFleet. In the StarFleet academy K'ran excelled in any class that dealt with combat and engineering classes. Her aggressive tendencies have gotten her into trouble on a number of occasions, mainly from tossing around fellow cadets. When it was time for her to graduate, K'ran sent word to her uncle and mother. Her uncle came to the ceremony but her mother didn't really want anything to do with her first born daughter now that her mother had a Klingon mate and 'pure' blooded Klingon children. K'ran still seeks to earn her grandfather's respect in hope she can earn his love.

Education

Starfleet Academy and was raised in a very traditional Klingon on family. She was trained and taught to be a Klingon Warrior.

Pre-Starfleet History

In the years before joining Starfleet Academy, K'ran wandered around taking a job as a security officer on a ship. She never spoke of her betazoid blood to anyone. She wanted to find a way to prove to her grandfather that she was worthy to be a Klingon Warrior. She's been in several fights during her years before StarFleet. K'ran has tried to stay away from betazoids in fear they might 'know' she was half their blood. She grew more confident when she didn't develop or show any hints that she had any telepathic or empathic abilities as she was told half Betazoids had.

Medical History

K'ran is physically fit but does has some problems with the way she was brought up. Her strict traditional childhood has left her with a self loathing she would never reveal to anyone. She has undeveloped, and supressed empathic abilities. Personality: K'ran was raised under strict Klingon tradition. She has worked hard to prove herself a 'true' Klingon to her Grandfather and this has made her aggressive and even reckless at times. She feels ashamed of her Betazoid father and won't speak of him. K'ran feels that her Betazoid blood makes her weak making her more intent to show her strength. She has a strong sense of loyalty to her Klingon blood. Once someone earns her loyalty she'll be totally loyal following them into any battle. An act of dishonor or cowardice can take her loyalty away. She won't respect anyone she sees as a coward or dishonorable. She has a strong sense of duty. Once she's taken an oath she holds to it no matter what. Most important to her is her honor. Her uncle has raised her to hold her honor at any cost. Honor comes before all else.

Hobbies

betleH training, combat training in the holodeck, and collecting colorful stones

Skills

Besides excelling in physical training, K'ran surprised herself when she found she had a talent for engineering. She has a talent for combat training having worked hard in those areas. K'ran has also found that she's good at repairing machines with an almost 'sixtth sense' at finding and fixing a problem.
