Physical Description

Doctor Samantha Claire Gunnell is a woman of Eastern European decent, her hair is worn in a cut that shapes into her face and is about a quarter way down her back. She has what some have termed 'striking' eyes, a slight upwards slant lending her a mildly oriental appearance.

History, Education and Skills

Gunnell is a devoted scientist that has devoted her entire life to the furtherment of understanding the universe around her. She is one of Starfleets foremost Borg authorities and has PHD's in cybernetics, applied bioengineering and exobiology. She was instrumental in the dissection and analysis of the evolved Subspace River after the Borg initiated part of it's internal coding to gain access to all areas of space. The River has since been found to have a degree of sentience, and is of Founder origin, being a remnant tendril that failed to retract after it was used to seed the four quadrants.

Her current role is as scientific advisor to the Galactic Cooperative.

Family and Background

One of three born to Samuel and Iskra Gunnell, Samantha is the eldest and most driven of the children. Born in the Ukraine, she migrated to, and grew up in the alpine regions of Switzerland where she eventually married Tierrie, her lifelong friend and eventual fellow scientist.
