Growing up on Betazed, her education experience was a happy one but very structured too. She was trained by her father Detron Trei in the Klingon fighting arts. At some point, she has completed the Klingon Rite of Ascension.
On top of her martial arts skills, she is also a moderately strong telepath. However, the trauma of her attack has made her reluctant to use it. She also does yoga and is an avid antiquer.
