Drovelli

Droveli is an exotic alcohol that acts as both an intoxicant as well as a natural aphrodisiac. The Alcohol is made from the dew collected from the Drov Flower found only on the Romulan planet of Jakarna II. It can range in color from a light amber to a dark red.

As the alcohol ages, it darkens, thus allowing the drinker to judge the relative age of the drink, and therefore it's value. Unlike most other alcohols, Droveli will spoil, even if refrigerated after only a few months. When this happens the liquid turns nearly black-red in color. To consume it at that stage is almost always fatal.

This spoilage potential has a positive side-affect. Since the drink can not be mass produced, demand is high and production remains relatively low. In addition since the flowers dew can only be collected every three months, the competitiveness for the limited supplies are also very challenging. This is one of the few consumables that can not be replicated due to it's unique molecular structure and so must be transported by freighter.

In 2413, the Romulan freighter Harveq was carrying a shipment of Droveli to the planet of Velas XIX but had been delayed at Starbase 989 by the murder of Captain Joseph Taylor and the following investigation by the crew of the USS Rosenante

Droveli was first seen in the USS Rosenante mission Touch of the Eidolon
