The Ghost Suit is a polymer suit which covers the wearer's body along with a helmet or headpiece. Its temperature regulation system could shield the wearer from heat detection equipment.

The suit is interwoven with an advanced circuitry system that covers the entire body. In addition to an adjustable temperature setting, it is laced with a form of neural-sensitive artificial muscle fiber which augments the wearer's natural physical strength. The suit provides limited protection against phaser and disruptor fire.

The helmet acts as a chemical agent mask and the suit features full life support and limited NBC (nuclear/biological/chemical) shielding.

Perhaps the most well known function of the suit is its cloaking ability. Though older models lack it, many ghost suits feature a personal cloaking device, allowing the ghost to render him/herself virtually invisible. The amount of time this is able to be used is limited by the amount of energy available, though can be increased through the installation of a micro-Quantum Singularity reactor. The stealth abilities are aided by coolant systems woven into its lining, rendering its user invisible to infrared and thermal sensors, even when uncloaked.

The suit is equipped with a helmet and tactical eyepiece (or in some cases Ocular Implants. The helmet shares the rest of its functions with the smaller headpiece, which includes a comm system, infrared vision, and a form of interphase scanning which allows the ghost to see through most solid objects. A HUD system is also present, capable of showing a computer display in the left-hand corner, an optical zoom function and at least in later models, provides the operative information on his/her biological status, and a weapon interface which allows the operative to instantly know the charge status of their equipment.

The equipment is not in widespread use and was seen in use by operatives of Section 31 aboard Starbase Geneva.
