Jynea stands at five feet, two inches. She has a lithe build of a dancer and dark brown, almost black eyes. Her skin is a dusky green, framed by her dark green hair.

Family and Background[edit]
Jynea was born the daughter of a slave and an infamous Orion pirate captain. The Captain was disgusted that his fifth born child was a daughter, good omens follow for a son. He dismissed both Jynea's mother and Jynea from his household and left them to try and make their lives on the streets. Jynea's mother turned to dancing in taverns for enough credits for food and rent. Often to afford unexpected expenses, such as clothing, she would have to sell more of her body than just letting men look at it as she took off her clothes. She told Jynea repeatibly that she must become more than her mother, she must find a place better than she came from.

Pre-Starfleet History[edit]
Jynea was eight when a Star Fleet raid brought an end to the Orion base on Redlar VI. Jynea's mother begged a place as a servant in the Captain's familial home for her daughter and herself. Jynea found Earth a strange planet to live on. The sky was clear and *blue* not *orange*, the air didn't taste burnt and the people didn't walk place to place hunched over and fearful of who was around them. She found the junior school she was enrolled in fascinating, she was quick to learn the arts of reading and writing. Many of her fellow students didn't quite know what to make of a child who was functionally illiterate and had lived poorer than a slave. She did her best to smile, be friendly and to listen when they spoke. Jynea learnt it's a wonderful magic when you listen to someone. They gain confidence, they talk about their problems and often solve their own problems just by talking it out. It made them feel better, it made her feel better because they were feeling better, and often she'd made a friend. It took all the friends of the school to get her caught up and ready to graduate the school at sixteen. Many long nights were spent reading data and puzzling out the strange magic called 'mathematics' Jynea asked Captain Clarke if he would sponsor her into the academy. She wanted to help children like she had been reach freedom and opportunity. Clarke was doubtful that the young woman could make it past the arduous tests. Surprising even herself she was accepted into the counseling department. Jynea didn't graduate with honours, in fact she barely graduated at all. While she receives full marks in counseling techniques, her empathy and her ability to help people, she lacks in the long term counseling skills and has a very limited understanding of anything outside of counseling. She doesn't understand Engineering, she can't fly a shuttle except on auto-pilot, and science tends to confuse her. She was advised to apply to a large ship that could compensate for her lack of knowledge, as a morale officer. A position in which she could help people on the short-term and deal with the problems counselors are sometimes too busy to deal with.

Jynea is a quiet, unassuming young lady. She is easy to talk to and often has insights into others. She still has problems with authority from her experiences as a child and will often shy away from situations that put her dealing with people severely older or higher in rank than herself. She gains pleasure from the assistance of others, she feels her purpose is to help at least as many people as those who have helped her. She has a curious nature about the universe around her, feeling if she can see all the places described, maybe she can understand them and their people better. When forced to deal with matters she doesn't understand Jynea is not shy about admitting her faults and asking for help. However, sometimes she doesn' t try and learn things on her own and relies too much on others.
Skills[edit]
Jynea has an instictive ability to read body language, and is good with animals and people. She is orally fluent in Federation Standard, Orion and Ferengi and knows enough Romulan to kowtow. She can only read and write Federation Standard.
