Marah Neru
Marah Neru is a typical Bajoran woman. She was born and raised on Bajor at her parents home in the Veska province, she received the typical Bajoran education and spiritual training. As a young girl she loved to dance and later look an interest in martial arts and put both together and competed in competitions as a non combatant in weapons handling and performing various kata. Her father died when she was only 12 years old and her mother was killed in an Orion raid when she was 20. She learned about the tournaments on Axtis III and decided to visit the planet and check it out, she enjoyed the lack of technology she found and decided to stay for a while. It was here that she met Ben Soma and the pair quickly became close, she warned him about Kavol during a tournament and the Nausicaan lived up to his reputation by threatening Soma to stay away from her or face the consequences. During the tournament Kavol was murdered and Ben was a suspect, once he was cleared the attention turned to her. After the investigation was taken over by Sanok the real killer was found and she was released.
After the end of the tournament she left with Ben and Sanok and went to Earth where she stayed at the Soma's residence. She was later abducted from there by Kavol's brother Turok who had her returned to Axtis III. There she fought to deny she had anything to do with the murder of Kavol, Turok later became bored with her and sent her to Aldavye to an Orion slave market. She had held out hope that Ben would rescue her but has since given up that hope over the five years that she had seen Ben last.
