What is the Post of the Month and how is it chosen?[edit]

The Post of the Month is chosen by a committee formed of the CO, the FO, the 2O and one other player chosen initially at random, and then by the extra player of the previous month.

The rules we follow for choosing the Post of the Month are:

The Post of the Month is one of the posts that was sent in in the previous month.

In the past we have tried getting the whole crew to nominate and vote on the Post of the Month, with (it has to be confessed) a conspicuous lack of success. So now we do it in a different way.

Four people choose three posts from the previous month (any posts, whether they are for a PC, SPC or NPC), 3 of them will be the Command Team (CO, FO and 2O), the fourth will be chosen from the crew on a rotational basis. i.e. every month a different crew-member will be selected to choose. The posts will be chosen on grounds of them being funny, insightful or otherwise considered to be an excellent post.

From the maximum of 12 posts the group of four then vote for the best one and the writer of that one will be forwarded to the council for one of the player awards as well as the poster receiving an additional medal.

No one may nominate their own posts, and since the CO and FO are expected to post well their posts will be excluded from the deliberations. The fourth person may be nominated by one of the command team.

November 2008[edit]

In November 2008 the committee comprised of: Liz Geuken (CO), Aaron Scifres (FO), Sal Hammond (2O) and Russ Gross (CEO). There were a total of 8 posts nominated, and the clear winner was Russ Gross with three nominations for this post
