United Confederation of Mol
The United Confederation of Mol is a political and geographical area located on the planet Irlix.
The Confederation is located on the second largest continent of the planet and dominates half of that land mass as well as some territory adjacent to the Rhone Union. The Confederation is home to roughly 100 million inhabitants and is the second largest on the planet.
In 2393, when the USS Medea Crashed in the territory controlled by the Gab Union, the Confederation fearing the advanced technology that might be held solely by their neighbor requested that they be granted access to the wreckage alongside Gab Union scientists. When they were turned down, they formed a coalition of nations to assert their right to study the wreckage on equal footing.
Under the potential threat of facing a coalition, the Gab Union performed a preemptive strike and then declared war against it's neighbors, beginning the Technology Wars that would ravage the planet.
In 2398, Ono Nakamura, a survivor of the Medea crash, assumed the guise of Khoda Rhone and introduced Federation Technology to the Union breaking the Prime Directive. The new technology, however was so advanced that Nakamura, as Rhone, managed to force the coalition to the peace table and exercise a great deal of sway over the peace process. Rhone became a hero and was made ruler for life. He orderd the Union renamed in his honor, (Rhone Union) and ordered a new capital city built. (Khoda City).
In 2413, when the USS Rosenante visited the planet to rescue some hostages taken from the USS Bohrs, the government of the Confederation of Mol was a democratic state.
Because of the extreme cultural damage done by Nakamura, Captain Salid, with the support of the Federation Diplomatic Corps aided the Irlixians in establishing a provisional world government headed by Ios Malinae who aided the Rosenante crew during their rescue operation. The Confederation was a signatory of the provisional government.
Other major political powers on the planet include, The Rhone Union, The Banok Empire and the Nuveric Republic.
