Starbase 47 was a starbase operated by the United Federation of Planets in the Taurus Reach. It was commanded by Commodore Reyes. The crew of the Starbase were responsible for the safety of fderation colonies inside and near the Taurus Reach. These colonies were the Furthest colonies from Earth at the time they were established.
The starbase acted as a defensive point against Klingon and Tholian raids in the sector.
Mirror Universe[edit]
Imperial Starbase 47 was the Mirror Universe version of Starbase 47. This starbase, also known as Vanguard was a Watchtower Class Starbase. The base was commanded by Commodore Diego "Red" Reyes.
In 2277, the base was infiltrated by agents of Spock and sabotaged. Eventually the Imperial Starfleet was forced to abandon the station and the Taurus Reach to the Klingon Empire and the [Tholian Assembly]].
