The crew of the USS Rosenante is considered to be one of the most diversely crewed ships in the fleet. The Officers who serve aboard her come from a wide variety of backgrounds and worlds, each bringing their own unique perspectives and experiences to the overall performance of the ship. There are personnel both old and new aboard ship who all strive together to overcome the challenges and risks that the universe throws at them. They are explorers, lovers and warriors all dedicated to the betterment of the [[United Federation of Planets]] and it's principles.

The Rosenante has completed a 5-year survey mission in [[Sector 6309]], which is considered strategically crucial for the potential expansion of the [[United Federation of Planets]]. This mission is reminiscent of the 5-year survey missions conducted by the [[Constitution Class]] starships of the 2200's.
The Rosenante is currently undertaking a 5-year survey mission in [[Sector 6309]], which is considered strategically crucial for the potential expansion of the [[United Federation of Planets]]. This mission is reminiscent of the 5-year survey missions conducted by the [[Constitution Class]] starships of the 2200's.

The Rosenante was badly damaged during mission [[Sensory Overload]] and is now at [[Starbase 989]] for extended repairs. Part of the crew, including the new CO [[Sanok]], have been transferred to a brand new ship, the [[USS Starfire]].

Such interference includes introducing superior knowledge, strength, or technology to a world whose society is incapable of handling such advantages wisely. Starfleet personnel may not violate this Prime Directive, even to save their lives and/or their ships, unless they are acting to right an earlier violation or an accidental contamination of said culture. This directive takes precedence over any and all other considerations, and carries with it the highest moral obligation. |The Prime Directive}}

To say that the situation has gone from bad to worse would be a significant understatement. With Kenovan's determination to see our alter-egos destroyed coupled with our recent encounter with the Voice and our diminishing timeline, I am beginning to feel as if I am going to be overwhelmed by the forces arrayed against us.
I suppose that in light of everything though, that sometimes we must endure unexpected calamity and overcome seemingly impossible odds if only to fulfill the moral obligations that wearing the uniform of the federation requires
More than once, during this mission I have found myself calling the very nature of the Prime Directive into question. I understand it's intent, it's design and even it's purpose. And arguably I agree with it at some level or I would never have agreed to uphold it within my oath as a starfleet Officer. Yet at the same time, I seem to see it as a flawed mechanism whose reach is too broadly granted and whose strict moral and technical guidelines fail to cover the most basic humanitarian and moral requirements that all sapient creatures living should adhere to.
This current situation being such a stark example of that, since to not interfere and thereby break the directive would be the same as committing Genocide through inaction. Yet, situationally, the level of corruption and damage that we can do to this culture are beyond my immediate comprehension. The fact that such damage may not be readily apparent for generations makes the situation almost palatable as a decision. After all, how can we be held accountable for a development that takes place a century or two from now, since the odds of our being able to trace it's origins to our visit would be so unlikely.
In the end, the interpretation of the Prime Directive is best left for the scholars, theologians and philosophers whose sole purpose for existence is to debate and argue such things. As for myself. I can only undertake to do my best to balance the rule of law with the compassion of morality.
