The Gilded Man
" Captain's  Log, supplemental. Stardate 2413.11.08"

With the away team on the surface of Irlix, searching for any information on the whereabouts of the crew of the captured USS Bohrs, details of their progress remain unavailable.
"It seems that our gamble has paid off in spades. We have managed to reveal the true Identity of Khoda Rhone as a Federation Officer who had violated the Prime Directive for his own benefit. He had over the course of the last thirty years created a society that would have made John Gill proud to be a totalitarian. "

Since their beam down however, several small details have begun to lock together in a little less confusing puzzle. That a Federation starship visited in some fashion these people within the last two to three decades, is not in question.
"We have taken him into custody, but we are unable to affect the peaceful release of the kidnapped Federation officer taken from the USS Bohrs, due to the facilities commander's misplaced loyalty to their fallen god-hero. As a result we have dispatched an away team to rescue the hostages and to make their way to the hanger and secure the Bohrs as well."

The real question is what happened to that ship and how did the Irlixians manage to get their hands on and make sense of Federation technology almost 200 years more advanced then their own.
All this taking place while Remey and I attempt to minimize as much of the contamination as we can on the planet. Overhead, the Rosenante is engaged with Loyal Irlixian space forces who would just as soon die rather than believe that they have been misled by Khoda Rhone."

Was this a clear breach of the Prime Directive, wrought for the benefit of some starship commander somewhere? Or was there a more sinister force at play, that somehow destroyed a Federation vessel and deposit it's technology on this planet?
"The damage that this one man has done astounds the mind and disheartens the spirit, yet I am confident that with guidance the Irlixians can come to put aside their dislike of each other and to establish a unified planetary government that will finally benefit all Irlixians rather than just those in favor of the ruling class. I believe that it will be a long fight, but one worth fighting for. To those ends I have no other desire but to pull things together and maintain the peace, once the threat of the military and the recovery of our personnel is complete. I only hope I can hold things together long enough for the members of the Starfleet diplomatic Corp to arrive."

We may never know the answer to this question, or if we are lucky, the away team members may discover enough clues to solve this unusual mystery.
"End Log."

I only hope that we can maintain our distance from the Irlixian starships in the system long enough to receive the pick up signal from our away team, and that we retreive them all long with the crew of the Bohrs without any loss of life.
It would also be nice to actually have an answer to the warp signature problem as well.
End personal log.
