*In Star Trek: Freedom the FO is secondary to the captain and aids in decision making both in and out of game for the duty station. It is not unusual for an FO to completely run a duty station for a significant length of time, believe me, I know that one. I'm more of a partner to my CO than an added appendage. FOs and COs are the significant command players on duty stations doing most of the administrative work and coordinating on most of the key decisions. While the COs final decision is the one that is followed, most captains work with their FOs and come to an agreed upon decision. In other words, FOs do have some significant authority in the game and his/her decisions have executive power.Β  -- JPB

*George... I came up with the orginal concept for the command player infobox , and I meant it for CO, FO, 2O and 3O. Basically anybody who is apart of a ship's "command staff" -- KevinSchram
*Of course it was you who came up with the original idea. I never said that it was otherwise. In fact, it was you who introduced the idea of adapting the infoboxes to this wiki in the first place. However, as we can see, my redesign of your original idea was quite substantial, and it followed my own interpretation which was even reflected by a change in the text, resulting in "as a commanding officer". Of course, now I see that that the phrase is ambiguous (that's why I asked for your opinions in the first place) and, what is more important, now I see you guys want to expand the idea of "commanding officers" much further (closer to what was Kevin's original concept). Therefore I propose we change the phrase to something more clear, like "This player has a character serving in a ship's command structure!" or something along these lines. What do you say? -- George 09:32, 27 February 2006 (EST)
*You don't all have to fight about it, just vote and we'll see who has the most. Christopher Steinebach
*Who's fighting?? We are just discussing different ideas. -- George 10:09, 27 February 2006 (EST)
