Although shrouded in mystery the Toto appear to have been an advanced civilisation that spanned most of the beta and alpha quadrant. The name Toto comes from a reference from a number of sources but mainly from the Bengany people in the Cataran system but it is believed that this is not their given name. Totoyo the Toto’s home world is believed to be an M-Class planet which was densely covered jungle. (Peterson)

Due to some resent artefact finds it is believed that the Toto civilisation existed to be some where between the 4.5 billion and 1 billion years ago before the re-evolve of all intelligent life due to a massive galaxy wide war. (Jones)

It appears that the Toto civilisation at its height was spread between the beta and alpha quadrant. It appears that this was originally done by starships called Biign (Fish) which travelled along the Wawe (River). There have been speculations that the Wawe the Toto mention is the Subspace River that was discovered by the scientists at the Cochrane Research Facility.  (Wood)

The Sphere of Elements is one of the grate tails of the Toto civilisation. Each sphere is specific to one of the four main elements of life. Each one represents one of the four grate warrior mages of the Toto legend that when they died infused their magic on knowledge into the spheres. They were a symbol of harmony and balance. Each one unlocks incredible knowledge and power about its specific element. If all the spheres were joined together to form the Spheres of Elements then the bearer would be unstoppable in what they wanted to achieve.

===The Quest of Shelsin the Mighty===
[[File:Hero.jpg|thumb|left|Shelsin the Mighty]]

Shelsin the mighty was a grate general of ancient times. He commanded the vast Serpents Fang Legions and slew his enemies in the name of the Elenmear the grate mother. Whole armies surrendered just at the mention of his name as once the fight was started no quarter was given to the enemies. While Shelsin fought for Elenmear in distant lands the ruling council were getting more and more worried that when Shelsin returned he would be so powerful that he would take control for him self and kill the council. So the council decided to hatch a plan that would get rid of Shelsin and return the balance of power to them. They sent one of the Maidens of Elenmear to request Shelsin presence in the capital for a meeting with the ruling council. When the Maiden of Elenmear arrived at Shelsin’s camp she found that Shelsin had gone hunting. On specific instruction not to stop until she had delivered her message she set off again to find Shelsin. Shelsin in the blood lust of the hunt saw something move half hidden in shadow and attached. His joy of the hunt soon became inconsolable grief when he found that he had killed a Maiden of Elenmear So over come with despair with what he had done by killing something so pure and magnificent. He vowed then and there that he would go on a penance quest to restore what he had taken from Elenmear.

*Note: Reference to the Quest of Shelsin the Mighty is found in many of the documentation evidence that has been found. It seams that the recovering of the Grand Library of E’mbachapak became almost an obsession to the Toto in later years before the fall. If the legend is true then the information contained in the grand library may be of grater value to the galaxy, as a whole then the discovery of warp drive.

===The Flame of Endendry===

[[File:Flame_of_Endendry.jpg|thumb|left|The Flame of Endendry]]

There was a woman called Endendry who was the wife of a grate fisherman who fished in the Goonda Wai (ocean). They would go fishing for days at a time far out into Goonda Wai to get the biggest and fattest fish. Every night that her husband was away in the Goonda Wai Endendry would go to the highest cliff top over looking the Goonda Wai she would light a fire which could be seen far, far out into the Goonda Wai to help guide her husband home. One time there was a terrible storm which devastated the fishing fleet. Many of the fishing boats were able to return safely by the guiding light of Endendry’s fire but alas her husband did not return and was presumed lost to the Goonda Wai. So now she lights her fire every night so that the fishing boats are guided home safely while she waits every hoping that the fishing boat on the horizon will be his.

*Note: The Toto’s reference to Goonda Wai as the ocean it could be postulated that Goonda Wai is not a planetary ocean but space its self. So that fishing boats could be starships travelling between the stars. Fish are what they call starships and they may be fishing not for actual fish but for other starships.
