A static warp shell (or Static warp bubble) is created by the warp core of a starship but, unlike a regular warp shell, does not propel the craft through space.

In three alternate timelines, a static warp shell was used simultaneously to form a new subspace barrier and seal an anti-time eruption. (TNG: "All Good Things...")
