Aquillians are reptillian by heritage. Their evolution has eliminated the tail their ancestors once sported. A standard evolutionary feature amongst the species is a pairing of translucent inner eyelids. The lower set enhance low level lighting, while the upper lids guard the eye against overly bright lights. These lids are consciously controlled by the Aquillian and are not automatic, hence a sudden bright light may still temporarily blind an individual.
