Background:

Education:

Pre Starfleet: On his homeworld of Hrax III he was an enforcer for The Authority, the governing organization on the planet. As an Enforcer he would monitor and see to it that the Hraxian way of life was not only being observed but also preserved in the Ungula Canyon region of the Slyveki coastline. His 12 year career as an enforcer and time on Hrax III came to an end in late 2437. During an assignment involving a Hraxian female refusing to let go of her daughter. The female refused to let her go because the young child was in poor health and wouldn't survive long enough to have a nest of other young Hraxians take her in. She asked for help from the local branch of the authority but her pleas fell on deaf ears. When Bentor arrived to remove the child so that she may find a nest willing to take her in, he saw with his own eyes that the child was in poor health. He knew that as an enforcer his primary job was to ensure the Hraxian way of life so that all may achieve a successful quality of life. So he made the decision to remove the child and transport her off world in a shuttle craft. He placed the girl in medical stasis and remodeled the shuttles systems to provide the maximum amount of power to the medical stasis chamber so that the girl would survive the long trip past the Draco Nebula and reach Betazed. Upon arrival on Betazed he was informed that a Terran doctor on earth specialized in Xeno biology and would be able to help the girl. Bentor resupplied his shuttle and headed towards Earth. Arriving on Earth he made his way to a city on the North American continent called Baltimore, where the doctor lived. The doctor discovered the girl had a rare blood infection and needed an immediate transfusion. By sheer luck Bentor and the girl both had the RK2-negative blood type after several weeks of transfusions the girl's health began rapidly improving. During this time Bentor read many books. He had decided against everything he was taught to remove the girl from the Hraxian way of life and against incredible odds she survived the trip to earth and by an even more incredible slim chance had the same blood type as him. Thus allowing her to be saved. During his time on earth he realized he could never return home so he decided to join Starfleet so that he could apply his skills of enforcing law in the Federation.

Starfleet: He graduated from Starfleet Academy in 2445 as the Salutatorian of his class. He majored In Security and Federation Law. When he entered the academy he found it rather refreshing to be around non Hraxians for the first time in his life. Being free to make friends and socialize in groups he gained a few good friends. Upon graduating he was assigned aboard The USS Vivaldi as a security officer and member of the captain's security detail. This was still an uncertain time for the weakened fleet, he was a solid member of the away team, successfully surviving several away missions that turned hostile rather quickly. He credits his survival to a heightened instinct towards detecting threats that Hraxians are rumored to have. Many of his crew considered him a lucky charm, Earning him the nickname of "Lucky Ben".

Medical:

Hobbies: During his time at the academy would use his spare time to travel to different regions on Earth to experience a wide selection of food options, during this time he developed a love for cooking. Ben Quickly developed a love for programs also known as movies from several different cultures, especially Earth. His guilty pleasure was a genre called Romantic Comedy, he simply can't get enough of the cheesy storylines mixed with comedy.

Skills: Ben is highly trained in hand to hand combat and the use of firearms. Having the highest ranked marksman score in his entire graduating class, he is a true crack shot with a phaser and sometimes even more dangerous with his bare hands, although he restrains himself a good bit when in physical altercations with others. He is an admirer of bladed combat weapons as well. On Hrax III as an enforcer he carried a Xriv'thi with him, a Katana like sword with a collapsible blade that is forged in sections. Like all enforcers he is highly trained in its use.

Other: Bentor is a kind soft spoken man, but will speak his mind when he feels it is called for. He believes very deeply that everyone deserves a second and sometimes a third chance to make things right. Acknowledging that no one is perfect is very important to him. He enjoys learning to cook regional meals from authentic ingredients for homesick crew members. Like other Hraxians, Ben does not eat every day . Instead he consumes a large meal once every 3 to 4 days. This meal in the Hraxian language is called " Xarthi " which literally translates to " The Meal" , But requires medically prescribed nutritional supplements in order to maintain his health as he can not consume live prey while serving on a starship. Surviving on replicated meals is possible only with the use of medical supplements.

Ben hates being compared to a snake, a creature found on Earth. He finds the comparison as insulting as most humans would find being compared to a monkey would be.
