| Patrolling the Romulan Neutral Zone in case the Romulans decided to take advantage of the [[Federation Civil War]], the ''USS Paladin'' was suddenly pulled into uncharted space, 530 light years off course. Faced with a six month journey to get back to Federation space, Captain Eva Straton ordered the ship to the nearest star system in order to finish repairs and get any supplies, if needed. To their surprise, they encountered a Dyson Sphere and sent a small away team, including Adams, out in the ''Shuttlecraft Goddard'' to investigate. The away team found a way to get into the sphere and then worked on getting the Paladin through to the inside as well. The Paladin explored in the interior of the sphere and found no life forms. They left the Dyson Sphere resupplied and started heading back to Federation space. Working with [[Sarouk|Lieutenant Commander Sarouk]], Adams helps find a subspace river which allowed them to get back in only two months time. The Humboldt was assigned to deep space exploration and hasn't returned to Earth since heading out on Stardate 2408.01.07. Adams hasn't been too pleased with his assignment, trying to put in for a transfer at every chance he gets. The Humboldt is being commanded by Captain Talasario, a Doenitz sympathizer who defected back to LoDona's side right before the end of the war. | The [[USS Spectre]] disembarks [[Starbase 24]] in route to the Falconer system and the water world of Vedea IV. Their orders are to escort the Freighter Kintaka and protect its shipment of special algae which is only found on Vedea IV. When the ship arrives, an away team, which includes [[T'Vhor|Captain T'Vhor]] and Adams, beams down to the surface to talk to the Vedeans. While in the underwater capitol city, the [[USS Spectre|Spectre]] is attacked with an EMP device and is forced to enter the planet's atmosphere. The ship does a controlled splashdown and comes to a rest on the sea bed at the bottom of the ocean. A boarding party fights its way into the ship lead by [[Andrew Williams|Commander Williams's]] sister, Audrey Williams. The boarding party is stopped and beamed back to the Vedean capitol city, but Audrey is no where to be found. [[H'Chir|Chief Engineer H'Chir]] is injured while trying to get main power restored to the ship and Adams must take over leading up repairs in an effort to get the [[USS Spectre|Spectre]] back into space once again. With the help of some Vedean scientists, the Spectre returns to orbit, where repairs continue to shore up the ship. The crew gets a lead on the ship that attacked them. It was a ship from the [[ETHOS]] project, a remnant of the [[Civil War]], which allowed it to mimic any other ship in the fleet. The Spectre heads back to Earth in pursuit of the vessel which attacked them. With [[H'Chir|Chief Engineer H'Chir]] injured, Adams is promoted to Acting Chief Engineer.''("Cry Havok and Let Slip the Dogs of War")''
