NRPG: 'Worbairns hacky mucky' means 'The baby needed cleaned up. 'Dottle' is the dark tarry crap that forms in a pipe once tobacco is smoked, and it is not nice to drop it, scattering it everywhere making a mess. I hope you guys get a kick out of this. ~Sheila

Day 13

Stardate: 2407.03.19

(USS Hades – CEOs Office – NPC Engineer Ensign Durston Croft – 1235)

Durston Croft walked wearily into the Chief Engineer’s office. His accent was thick in his fatigue. “Sir, we ha’ been a-wurkin’ and are aboot dun patchin’ that warp nacelle. But worbairns hacky mucky. I wuz aboot to drop me dottle and so they sent me in. Thought ta reporrit in direct sur.” Durstan’s hands shook with exhaustion.

Durston stumbled to the food replicator to get a hot meal. “Gissie, tetties and bagies.”

[Unable to comply]

“Aw fer the luv o’ littal angels,” said Durston, cranky in his fatigue. “Pork chops, po-tat-toes, and some turnip. And a cuppa hot coffee, bloody strong n black.” As the replicator materialized the drink, Durston rolled his eyes, shaking his head.

“Yessur,” said Durston wrapping his large hand around the hot coffee mug to warm it and picking up his supper in the other. He clomped back to a chair facing the CEO’s desk and sat down. Sipping his coffee, he relished the warm bitter liquid running down his throat.

“Afore I went EVA sur, I ha’ already flooshed the plasma manifolds. They couldna’ be any cleaner.” Durston ate his food with a bone tired lethargy that he could not mask.
