H’retor is born in 2386 on H’atoria. His father, [[Gi’ral]], considered very important that H’retor was not only a warrior, but someone who could also understand things. Knowledge was very important to Gi’ral and he taught his son all he knew. Gi’ral also talked a lot about the Federation and their value to H’retor, and H’retor has since then always remembered how much respect his father had for the Federation. However, because of the important political role Gi’ral had, he was often absent and a lot of H’retor education was given by Gi’ral’s brother, Tah’rel.

If H’retor was taught the importance of discipline, sacrifice and courage, by his father, his uncle was far less virtuous. Tah’rel was a very sexist and indisciplined Klingon who had often been dishonourable for the House of Moroth. He was nevertheless the only brother Gi’ral had, and only person who could raise H’retor during Gi’ral long periods of absence. Because of that, despite H’retor willingness to follow his father’s path, he sometimes lack the discipline and maturity that his father had at his age. Nevertheless, compared to most of the other Klingon of his age, H’retor is more disciplined, more intellectual and more progressist. The struggle for discipline, as always been the biggest demon for H’retor, but he has the hearth of the warrior, and it is only a question of time before he become has disciplined has his father is.
